From the Editor (Toru Nakagawa, Feb. 8, 2008)
This page was started to be compiled with the intention as written in "From the Editor on Feb. 5, 2008", but was found better to compile wider range of papers with the intention as written in "Added Note from the Editor on Feb. 7, 2008". I hope this page may be helpful for the readers.
From the Editor (Toru Nakagawa, Feb. 5, 2008):
As you see in a separate page, I am posting my 'Personal Report of ETRIA TRIZ Future Conference 2007'
and reviewing almost all the papers/presentations in the conference. I wrote similar 'Personal Reports' for all the TRIZCONs and ETRIA TFCs which I attended at. And for every conference I selected several excellent papers and asked their authors and the conference organizers to give me their permissions of my translating them into Japanese, posting the Japanese versions in my Web site together with the original English versions. Authors and organizers have been so kind to give me such permissions.
In my Japanese page 'To Do List for TRIZ'
, I have posted the list of such selected papers with brief introductions for the purpose of asking Japanese readers for their voluntary work of translation. Actually I got several volunteers and we have posted several nice papers in Japanese translation and in English, as you see in this Web site. However, the list of selected papers waiting for the translation has got longer and longer, to my regret. I now have about 20 backlog papers, besides the last ETRIA TFC2007.
So far I had a policy to post the original English version only when we post the Japanese translation version. This policy was chosen because the conference organizers usually do not make their papers/presentation slides completely open to public, even though they usually allow the authors to send their papers to any Web site or journal. Nevertheless due to this policy of mine, many papers were not publicized in my Web site in English even when the authors want and the organizers allow the Web publication. In this situation, I am going to change my policy in the following way, which I recently obtained kind approval by Altshuller Institute and by ETRIA.
New policy is: After 6 months from the conference the original English version of conference papers may be posted in the English page of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" without accompanied by its Japanese translation, under the conditions of the permissions by the authors and the conference organizers. (This will be beneficial for English readers and will be helpful for us to get volunteers of Japanese translation.) If the Japanese translation is ready, the English version may be posted here together with the Japanese version after 3 months from the conference, under the conditions of the permissions by the authors and the conference organizers.
Following this new policy, I am going to post in English the lists of selected papers of past TRIZ conferences and to post the selected papers one by one in English. I deeply apologize for my delay to the authors who gave me their permissions long ago and were looking forward to seeing (though might not reading) their own papers published in Japanese. I wish to express my sincere thanks for their excellent papers. These papers still have their values for us to learn much.
Note: In parallel to this, we are trying to publish the papers presented at 'TRIZ Symposia in Japan' as much as possible in Japanese and in English, as you see in the Official Pages of Japan TRIZ CB and in my Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan". However, translating into English is actually harder for us Japanese than translating into Japanese. May we have any volunteer who would translate selected Japanese TRIZ papers into English?? In our TRIZ Symposium, all the oral presentations are given with parallel projection of English and Japanese slides and the Proceedings are published both in English and in Japanese.
Added Note from the Editor (Toru Nakagawa, Feb. 7, 2008)
While I was compiling the papers in the categories mentioned above, I have found many more papers written by overseas authors and have either posted or not posted their Japanese/English versions. Since the discrimination of papers coming from conferences or not does not make much sense, I have decided to list up all the papers written by OVERSEAS authors and contributed in some form to this Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan". They are now arranged from current to old, thus happen to show a history of this We site for these 10 years. This is the history what I have learned from contemporary overseas authors and what I have distributed to introduce into Japanese TRIZ community through this Web site. (I need to mention that papers written by some schools in TRIZ do not appear here because of business-related constraints.)
I wish to thank again all these people, my teachers in TRIZ, for their contributions and kind permissions of posting their excellent works.
List of Selected Papers Written by Overseas Authors and Posted in This Site
The following lists show the papers which were written by OVERSEAS authors and posted in this Web site"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" either in English or in Japanese. And the lists further include the papers written by OVERSEAS authors and selected for the purpose of wider distribution in Japanese translation (and in English) and for which the permissions were already obtained from the authors and the conference organizers. I hope these lists serve as an index to the posted papers and also as an index for selected papers waiting for translation and posting.
