Editor's Note and Publication Announcement (Toru Nakagawa, Feb. 13, 2014)
We have just restarted the publication of the book series "TRIZ Practices and Benefits" in Japanese in the name of 'CrePS Institute' as the publisher. (See my message:
![]()
)
The book series was published since 2004 by Sozo Kaihatsu Initiative, Ltd. (SKI)
. Nakagawa published (or almost published) five books (including two outside the series) from SKI as the supervising translator or the translator. SKI has ceased the business by the end of 2012 due to Mr. Masatoshi Hotta's retirement, and I have received the publication rights of the five books. After a gap of one year, I have decided to restart the publication of them by starting my own sole proprietorship, CrePS Institute
, as a publisher. (This is a choice because commercial publishers in Japan are declined to take the risk of sales failures of TRIZ-related books.)
The new series "TRIZ Practices and Benefits" is going to include revised Japanese editions of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. Darrell Mann's latest Contradiction Matrix, i.e., "Matrix 2010", will become the Vol. 2A in place of "Vol. 2. Matrix 2003". The original Vol. 1 was our Japanese edition of Darrell Mann's excellent textbook "Hands-On Systematic Innovation" (HOSI), while the new Vol. 1A is its revision, i.e., "HOSI with Matrix 2010". Using the latest Matrix in the textbook HOSI is quite natural for the author and for us readers; under the author's approval I have revised the text at the minimal level while including Matrix 2010 in its full extent.
I am also planning to publish Larry Ball's illustrative material "Hierarchical TRIZ Algorithms" as Vol. 3 and Umakant Mishra's book "Inventive Principles for Information Technology" as Vol. 4, both in Japanese translation. These two were (almost) published but no active sales were made yet, in spite of their important contents.
The books will be available in the form of digital downloading [and Print on Demand] from an internet site 'DLmarket' in Japan
. This style of sales is very helpful for me to operate a publisher business with minimum sales/financial risks and efforts. (Unfortunately, printing and binding the books need to be done, if necessary, by the customers. I am looking forward the DL market site starting the print & bind & delivery option as the customers' choice, in near future.) ==>
The DLmarket site announced on Feb. 20 that they have started the Print on Demand service. Thus I have started publishing the book series in the style of digital downloading and/or Print on Demand at the DLmarket site. Readers can buy either digital PDF files or printed books or both. (Mar. 10, 2014)
I wish to author/translate/edit and publish some useful books in future. Your readership, suggestions, recommendations, etc. are highly appreciated. Thanks so much for your support.
Books are now purchasable in the Market Place of Amazon.co.jp, only for domestic delivery.
The printed editions of volumes (1A), (2A), (3), and (4) are available at the Market Place of Amazon.co.jp, for the standard price plus 259 yen for delivery (as fixed by the policy of Amazon). New books will be shipped from CrePS Institute (Nakagawa) via 'Yu-mail'. No shipping outside Japan. Books and their DL editions are available at the DLmarket site as before. (TN, Apr. 25, 2015)
