Note: This center is an education and training facility for employees of Toshiba group compnies. We have asked, through our Japan TRIZ CB member working for Toshiba, for its usage even though it is exceptional for them to offer it to an outside organization. Please remember that there will be other seminars in the same building. The number of accomodations for us is limited to be 50; and they have the regulation of closing the gate at 22:00. In this situaion, the Center does not have its own public Web site.

From Narita International Airport to Shin-Yokohama Station: By Express trains:
Take Narita Express from Narita Airport Station or Airport Terminal 2 Station
to Tokyo Station (1 hr) and
change to Tokaido Shinkansen to Shin-Yokohama station (16 min).Attention: When you take the Tokaido Shinkansen at Tokyo, you must make sure that your train stops at Shin-Yokohama. Kodama is always OK (every 30 min.), while Nozomi and Hikari super-expresses stop or NOT stop depending on each train. (If it does not stop, you will have to make a return trip to Nagoya.) From Tokyo area to Shin-Yokohama: By local trains:
Take JR Keihin-Tohoku Line (from Tokyo Station) to Higashi-Kanagawa Station (about 25 min.)
and change JR Yokohama Line to Shin-Yokohama Station (about 5 min.) Then 20 min. walk to the TOSHIBA Kenshu Center.From Tokyo area to TOSHIBA Kenshu Center: By local train and a bus:
Take JR Keihin-Tohoku Line (from Tokyo Station) to Higashi-Kanagawa Station (about 25 min.).
Then take a bus to Mataguchibashi (about 15 min.), and walk for 3 minutes. [See the map above.].

Facilities: 50 single rooms are available for our Symposium. [We still have some more vacancy (Aug. 14, 2007).]
Charges: 6,100 yen per night
[Note (Aug. 14, 2007): Corrected total charges are: 6100 + 400 + 325 = 6,825 yen per night, including the breakfast and sales tax. Payment should be done to the registration desk of the Symposium in cash in Japanese yen at the time of your Symposium registration.]

The room is a standard single room typical in Japan for business stay.
A single bed, a desk and a chair, a TV set, a bath room with a bath tub and a toilet, etc.
Supplies in each room include: a bath towel, a facial towel, a nightware, a hair dryer, and an alarm clock
A limited number of following supplies are available: extra brankets, cotton brankets, extension stool of the bed (for a tall person), boards for making the bed springs stiff, and irons.Each room has a phone set for inner use of the facility; you cannot use it to call outside.
A public phone is installed at the evelator hall on the first floor. Use (Japanese) coins and IC telephone cards.
