TN  ==> LinkedIn Posting     Toru Nakagawa   Dec. 9, 2022

"Altshuller and History of TRIZ" by Tomasz Arciszewski posted on "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" in English and in Japanese translation

This introductory article is contributed by the Author (Dr. Tomasz Arciszewski, Professor Emeritus at George Mason University) and permitted by the Publisher (Taylor & Francis Group) to reproduce and post on my website "TRIZ Home Pare in Japan" in English and in my Japanese translation.
From "Inventive Engineering: Knowledge and Skills for Creative Engineers", by Tomasz Arciszewski, Sections 9.1 - 9.2 (pp. 285-294), CRC Press (2016).

It is a compact and comprehensive introduction to Altshuller (Section 9.1) and the (early) History of TRIZ (Section 9.2), which intermingle with each other. The former section describes the facts and background of Altshuller's life, while the latter the emergence and development of the concepts in TRIZ through his life stages.

The atmosphere and influences of Soviet society on his life are well described. The novelty/creativity of Altshuller's work in finding various essence (like principles/patterns/laws) from a huge body of technological information is evaluated as pioneering work of inductive knowledge acquisition (or Machine Learning in our present terminology).

This article in English is valuable for us to learn about Altshuller's life and work.

(Selected) communications with the Author and myself [TN] record how this posting became possible.

The Author has written down a new article: "New Introduction to "Inventive Engineering": Six Years Later". He emphasizes the 5-part structure of the Book: Motivation, Background knowledge, Terminology, General designing process, and then five Individual Methodics (including TRIZ).

Dear Prof. Nakagawa,    Many Thanks for your continuous and constant work on TRIZ.
I would like to wish you and Mme Masako Season's Greetings, Happy Holidays and a Safe, Healthy and Prosperous New Year 2023.      Best regards, Shahid

Tomasz Arciszewski (USA) ==> TN (among many),  Dec. 23, 2022

Dear Friends:    Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Arciszewski family.   ... (snips)...

On the professional side, I had two trips to Poland to promote Inventive Engineering through lectures, workshops, and seminars. The response is gradually getting better and better with a growing chance that an Innovation Center will be created at one of the major universities in Poland with strong funding from the state-owned large industrial corporations. It will be fun, but also a challenge, but I love challenges.          Yours Tomek and Eva

WTSP:  Germany Part of the World WTSP Catalogs (Toru Nakagawa)

TN  ==> TRIZ Colleagues and WTSP Members in the World, + LinkedIn Article ,  Dec. 18, 2022

Hello, everybody, how are you?
I have posted a WTSP article yesterday (Dated Dec. 16) in our website:

[1] WTSP Catalogs: Germany Part of the World WTSP Catalogs Has Been Built (Toru Nakagawa)

I also have just posted a brief introduction to this article in LinkedIn , especially in its 'TRIZ and Innovation' Group having 17,685 members. I will duplicate it here, hoping it clearer than my usual update announcement of this website.

-------------------------------------------------

Germany Part of the World WTSP Catalogs Is Posted, Containing 19 TRIZ Sites and 35 Around-TRIZ Sites (Toru Nakagawa) Dec. 18, 2022

Internet survey with the keyword TRIZ AND 'Systematic Innovation' (May 2021) detected 68 websites located in Germany.

This time I visited all the sites again one by one with the help of DeepL from German into English translation, and wrote brief introductions to them mostly with excerpts of top pages and 'About us' pages. This has resulted in the Manuscripts of 4 ◎, 4 ○, 8 □, and 3 △ TRIZ Sites, and 5 ○, 8 □, and 4 △ Around-TRIZ Sites

Then the German websites already posted in the WTSP Catalogs are merged. They are based on the earlier internet surveys: TN2A and TN2F for TRIZ sites, and TN3A2, TN3B, TN3C, TN3D, and TN3E for Around-TRIZ sites.

Now the Germany WTSP Catalogs contain 3 ◎, 6 ○, 7 □, and 3 △ TRIZ Sites and 2 ◎, 7 ○, 18 □, and 6△ Around-TRIZ Sites. An Index Table of all these sites and Site descriptions of them are incorporated as the Germany Part of the World WTSP Catalogs  (but the Index parts of the (whole) World Catalogs are not updated yet).

The Top Figure of this article shows the TRIZ websites in Germany evaluated (temporarily) as ◎ Most Important and ○ Important. Some (or many) of them may be new to you. We can learn a lot from various websites in the World WTSP Catalogs .

We wish TRIZ colleagues in Germany to revise and enhance the list of sites and the descriptions of individual sites. Especially, site owners are very welcome to contribute the introductions to their own websites in the Standard Form (1 page in A4) and more closely in free format in a separate file.

Several more countries active in TRIZ are left to build similar Country Catalogs, such as France, Italy, Taiwan, South Korea, etc.

It is a difficult job for a foreigner like me to build WTSP Catalogs of different countries even with the help of translation software.

Results of Internet Surveys for each country are posted already. Visiting and writing introductory notes (in English) of individual sites listed there are the basic jobs expected for TRIZ colleagues in each country.  I will be ready to collaborate with you to brush your manuscripts up into your Country Part of the World WTSP Catalogs.

Let's work Together ! Connected !!

--------------------

Thanking you for your continuous support and collaboration,
Wishing Happiness and Peace to you, your family, and people in the whole world in the coming year!
Sincerely, Toru

Ellen Domb (USA) ==> TN,  Dec. 22, 2022

Hello, Toru:. I saw the LinkedIn announcement about adding the German sites to your world index. Congratulations!   I know that this was a very complex task, and I'm sure the world TRIZ community will appreciate it and benefit from it.    Happy holidays to you and your family.    Ellen Domb

  TN  ==> Ellen Domb,  CC: WTSP Global Co-editors ,  Dec. 22, 2022

Dear Ellen, It's nice to hear from you! Thank you so much for your message.

Mid November I made up my mind to build up Country WTSP Catalogs (or Country Part of the World WTSP Catalogs) for several countries leading TRIZ, i.e., Germany, France, Italy, Taiwan, Korea, Netherlands, Australia, India, etc. and to present our WTSP Paper of Gamma Edition at the coming ETRIA TFC2023, in the early September.
I worked on Germany first. I had to spend about a month, with the help of DeepL. I notice that France, Italy, Taiwan, Korea, ... will be even harder jobs because of higher language barriers.   So I have just sent emails individually to the (not-yet-strong) WTSP Teams in France, Italy, Taiwan and (now preparing for) Korea to ask their help/collaboration.
Since everybody is busy in their official/business/personal jobs, I am not sure how smoothly their Country WTSP Catalogs will come out. We have to overcome the difficulty, which we are facing with now (and actually always since the start of the project), with all our spirits and efforts.
The Germany Part need much further improvement, and TRIZ community in Germany should work for making their Part Useful and Attractive.

Dear Ellen, may I ask you one thing? Could you please write your present message to me again as a comment to my post in LinkedIn? Yours is a very big encouragement to us.

I am sending this reply to Ellen also to our Global Co-editors with CC, for acknowledging Ellen's kind words.

I have just received an Email from Michael Orloff. He says he is now writing introductions to his own site for the WTSP Catalogs.
Happy Holidays to you all !    Best wishes, Toru

     WTSP Activities in Italy

TN ==> Matteo Spreafico, Davide Russo (Italy), CC: 3 more colleagues           Dec. 21, 2022

Dear Matteo and Davide, How are you and people in your country?

As I wrote you in my last [WTSP] Letter (33M-1), I posted Germany Part of World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites on my website last week.

I am eager to build similar Country Parts of World WTSP Catalogs for a number of countries active in TRIZ, such as Italy, France, Taiwan, Korea, Netherlands, Australia, India, etc. We wish to built them up by the end of April 2023 and publish a paper of Gamma Edition of WTSP World Catalogs at the coming ETRIA TFC2023 in early September.
Visiting individual sites one by one and writing site introductions are very hard for me because of language barriers. (For working on the Germany Part, it took me about a month.)

We need your help and collaboration !!!

(a) We appreciate that Matteo accepted to be the WTSP Country Editor for Italy and Davide to help him. How about the situations of TRIZ-related websites in your country and about the situations of your WTSP Team work?

(b) Please take a look at the Survey results done in May 2022, attached below. . Is it possible for you to evaluate these websites very roughly and show the results to me (and your team)?  ◎ Most important in the world Catalogs (about top 30), ○ Important in the world Catalogs (next about 100), □ Worthy in the world Catalogs, △ Worthy in your country Catalog, ー Neglected/irrelevant    We may work on the individual websites according to such a rough priority.

(c) Could you (with the help of some Team Members) visit the websites one by one and write brief introductions (and refined evaluation) ? Please fill in the Location, Language, Roles of site. Format may be the same as in the attached file. You may rearrange the order of the sites.

(d) At this stage, please send me (and your Team) the list of all the websites (neglecting ー)and their site introductions. I will brush them up to make the Manuscript of Italy Part of World WTSP Catalogs.

(e) In parallel with (d), please encourage the site owners to write their site descriptions in the WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4) (at the levels ◎○□), and more closely in a free format (about 2 to 20 pages in A4) (at the levels ◎○).     Ask them to send the site descriptions to the Country Editor and to me. Such descriptions will be inserted in the Italy Part of the World WTSP Catalogs. Whenever I receive the close description (together with the Standard Form description), I will post them quickly in the World WTSP Catalogs and also in an independent page in my website.

(f) Building up the Gamma Edition of the whole WTSP World Catalogs will take more time (probably till July), for including the data from all other active countries.    This schedule looks tight but crucial for the WTSP World Catalogs to be accepted useful in the TRIZ community and wider in the world community of Creative Problem- Solving methods (or Systematic Innovation).

Please show that various websites in TRIZ and Around-TRIZ (and the academic/industrial activities producing such websites) in Italy have significant contributions to the World in such important fields. Having a Vision is a Happiness for everybody.

Wishing Happiness to you all and Peace in the World at the season of Christmas and the coming New year 2023 !!
Best wishes, Toru

(b) Please take a look at the Survey results done in May 2021, attached below.    Is it possible for you to evaluate these websites very roughly and show the results to me (and your team)? ◎○□△ー .   We may work on the individual websites according to such a rough priority.

(French experts like you are much superior than AI robots to perform this kind of intellectual work at the present stage, I believe.)

(d) At this stage, please send me (and your Team) the list of all the websites (neglecting ー)and their site introductions. I will brush them up to make the Manuscript of France Part of World WTSP Catalogs.

      WTSP Activities in Taiwan

TN  ==> Prof. Daniel Sheu (Taiwan),  Dec. 21, 2022

Dear Prof. Daniel Sheu, How have you been?

I have started to work on the TRIZ-related websites in Taiwan.    I am going to build Taiwan Part of World WTSP Catalogs, following the Germany Part, I posted last week in my website.

For doing the job, I really need your help.

(1) I started my work, first visiting your websites I-SIM, SSI, and IJoSI, and have written the draft as shown in the attached file.

(2) I have found your vision of 'Systematic Innovation Method' (larger than TRIZ) is essentially the same as my saying 'TRIZ and Around-TRIZ'. I am now interested in joining I-SIM as a Member.

(3) It is a hard work for me to visit about 40 websites in Taiwan one by one to write survey introductions. Websites written only in Chinese will take me so much time to understand and evaluate with the help of DeepL. Probably one month or even longer will be necessary.
Could you help me in some manner, for example:

(a) Please show your rough evaluations of all the websites   with ◎ ○ □ △ ー .
(b) Please form a group of website surveyors and ask them to write site introductions.
(c) If possible, please form WTSP Team of Taiwan, assign the Team Leader (i.e., WTSP Country Editor of Taiwan) and make (a Manuscript of) the Taiwan Part of World WTSP Catalogs.
(d) Ask the site owners to write the Site Introductions of their sites.
-- At minimum, (a) is very helpful for me. I will work to visit the websites in the order of your evaluation.

(4) I am eager to build similar Country Catalogs for France, Italy, Korea, Netherlands, Australia, India, etc. by the end of May  April  and complete the Gamma Edition of WTSP World Catalogs of TRIZ Sites and publish it in our paper for ETRIA TFC2023.

Hoping your quick response, Best wishes to you and people in your country especially for the coming year, Toru

  Daniel Sheu (Taiwan) ==> TN ,  Dec. 21, 2022

Dear Professor Nakagawa, Glad to hear from you. Many thanks for your message.
You are more than welcome to join I-SIM, International Society of Innovation Methods. ...

I took a quick look at your attached file and found that majority of the organizations you listed are not really connected to TRIZ or systematic innovation. Most of them just have a course or seminar in TRIZ/SI and that listed on web. The main theme or goal of those units are different from SI/TRIZ.
I can prioritize them for you, but it may take a little while probably after the Chinese new year as we are quite busy preparing for the annual domestic conference in Chinese, our office move, and the Chinese new year which you know is the most important holiday in Chinese culture.

I have a friend who is an associate professor in a private university in Taiwan. He used to collect a lot of TRIZ/SI related information, mostly in Chinese. I'll ask if he is interested in doing the catalog for your interest. If he is interested, I'll get you connected.

Regarding I-SIM. SSI, IJoSI, and Quarterly newsletter, we have built a lot of Innovation Methods/Systematic Innovation/TRIZ materials and videos. We are going to add the past conferences' keynotes to the library.
I invite you to recommend top 5% excellent papers to me so we can include them in the recommended portion of the I-SIM newsletter.  ...

P.S.: I-sim is registered and based in the Bay area of USA, not Taiwan. However, primarily operated from Taiwan.
D. Daniel Sheu

TN  ==> Prof. Daniel Sheu (Taiwan),  Dec. 22, 2022

Dear Daniel, Thank you for your quick response and message.   (1) ... (snips) ...

(2) I agree with you that many websites in the survey results are detected because of just having a few pages containing the keywords TRIZ or Systematic Innovation. Please note some of them contain more pages in various approaches of Around-TRIZ. Please list up such websites to be included in the (Taiwan Part of) WTSP World Catalogs of Around-TRIZ Sites.

It is nice to have such younger people in the WTSP Project. We would very much like to get his (and some of his friends') help.    Building Taiwan Part of World TRIZ Sites Catalogs and gettin involved in the WTSP Project will certainly make good effects on his life-long carrier.

(3) I am interested in your whole activities, I-SIM, SSI, IJoSI, etc. I will learn more with the documents you have accumulated.   ...

(4) I will add a sentence in my Note:   "I-SIM is registered and based in the Bay area of USA, not Taiwan. However, primarily operated from Taiwan. In the WTSP Catalogs we regard the Head Office of I-SIM is located in Taiwan."
Best wishes, Toru

Daniel Sheu (Taiwan) ==> Prof. Ming-Hung Sung (Taiwan), TN ,  Dec. 25, 2022

Dear Professor Sung,  As discussed in our phone conversation, I am forwarding Professor Nakagawa's message to you so that you know what he is looking for.

Dear Profesor Nakagawa, Professor Sung has been studying TRIZ and Systematic Innovation for many years. He has been maintaining a website containing a large amount of SI/TRIZ related concepts and stories - the great majority of the contents are in Chinese. Please get in touch with him for collaboration of websites.

In addition, I suggest that both of your sites to link to and explain our Societal websites which include: www.i-sim.org (I-SIM), www.ssi.org.tw (SSI), www.ijosi.org (IJoSI).
Merry Christmas to you and your families.    Dongliang Daniel Sheu

TN ==> Daniel Sheu (Taiwan), Prof. Ming-Hung Sung (Taiwan),  Dec. 25, 2022

Dear Prof. Sheu and Prof. Sung,
Thank you very much for your interest in the WTSP World Catalogs of TRIZ-related Sites. We would appreciate it very much if Prof. Sung takes care of building Taiwan Part of World WTSP Catalogs.
It is not an easy job, but the results should be very useful and attractive for the TRIZ community in Taiwan, China, and over the world.
We eagerly wish to have a Team of a few members in Taiwan. Nobody in foreign countries can do better than you.
Best wishes, Toru

  Prof. Ming-Hung Sung (Taiwan) ==> TN ,  Dec. 29, 2022

Thank you for your invitation to build the Taiwan part of the World WTST catalogs. It is my great honor to have the opportunity to connect the TRIZ community around the world.

I was wondering if there is a deadline for this task?                FCU Ming-Hung Sung

TN ==> Prof. Ming-Hung Sung (Taiwan), CC: Daniel Sheu,    Dec. 29, 2022

Thank you very much for your joining us to the WTSP Project, especially for making the Taiwan Part of the Wold WTSP Catalogs.

We wish to complete the Country Parts of several countries, such as Taiwan, Korea, France, Italy, Netherlands, etc. by the end of April, i.e., the deadline for submitting the WTSP paper to ETRIA TFC2023 scheduled in early September. For doing this I am asking the WTSP Teams in such countries. Following is my instruction to the Korean Team (which was written last, and hence most closely)

==> See TN's message to the Korea Team

Please work for the steps (a) [Forming the Team] and (b) [Rough evaluation of the websites listed in the Survey (Jun. 2021) and informing me the results] quickly, by the end of January.
Then please work for the steps (c) [Visiting websites one by one and write brief introductions] and (d) [List of websites (◎ ○ □ △) with brief introductions] with the help of some of your colleagues, by the end of February, or by mid March at the latest.
Step (e) [Asking the site owners to write site description in Standard Form and optional close introduction in a free format] need to be done by mid April.
Then I will sum up the Country Parts of a number of countries by the end of April.

We sincerely wish the collaboration of Taiwan Team with your leadership and Prof. Sheu's support.
Thanking you for your volunteering.  Best wishes, Toru

      WTSP Activities in Korea

TN  ==> Min-Gyu Lee, Jaeman Joo, and Soonhyun Lee (Korea) + CC: 9 more colleagues,  Dec. 23, 2022

Dear Min-Gyu Lee, Jaeman Joo, and Soonhyun Lee, Hello, how have you been?
I notice I have not written personalized communications to you for these tree months since Sept. 22. I apologize.

As I wrote you in my last [WTSP] Letter (33M-1), I posted Germany Part of World WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ Sites on my website last week.

I am eager to build similar Country Parts of World WTSP Catalogs for a number of countries active in TRIZ, such as France, Italy, Taiwan, Korea, Netherlands, Australia, India, etc.    We wish to built them up by the end of April 2023 and publish a paper of Gamma Edition of WTSP World Catalogs at the coming ETRIA TFC2023 in early September.
This is a quite tight schedule, but I strongly believe we should never miss this timing for building the World WTSP Catalogs Useful and Attractive. So I have just sent emails to the (not-yet-strong) WTSP Teams in the countries of France, Italy, and Taiwan.   See my email to the France Team, as attached below.

I will write here the instructions for building Country Catalogs, in a similar way. But since you already started such a work in your own way, please make your process with adjusting my instructions.

(a) We appreciate that you three have decided to work for the WTSP Project in Korea. We wish members of KATA KTA [Korea TRIZ Association] and KOSCA [The Korean Society of Creative Application] support you and join to the WTSP work.

(b) Please take a look at the Survey results done in Jun. 2021, attached below. . Please evaluate these websites roughly and show the results to me (and your team)
◎ Most important in the world Catalogs (about top 30)
  ○ Important in the world Catalogs (next about 100)
  □ Worthy in the world Catalogs
△ Worthy in your country Catalog
  ー neglected/irrelevant
This is essentially the same step as you say 'to make at least a small list of the important TRIZ sites in Korea with brief explanations and following the standard of WTSP'.
You may list up the TRIZ sites you roughly evaluate as the levels ◎○□, among the sites detected in the survey and also some more sites you know but missing in the survey.
Listing a group of important sites is the same as evaluating them good/important according to some criteria. We always need to make such evaluation/selection even tentatively (and refine the evaluations later) to do any meaningful job.
In our case we have another level △, i.e., worthy in the Country Catalog of Korea. We may work on the individual websites according to the priority of these evaluation levels.

(c) (With the help of a number of your colleagues) Please visit the websites one by one and write brief introductions (and refined evaluation). Please fill in the Location, Language, Roles of site. Format may be the same as in the attached file. You may rearrange the order of the sites.

(d) At this stage, please send me (and your Team) the list of all the websites (neglecting ー)and their site introductions. Please follow the sample case of Germany Part. I will brush them up to make the Manuscript of Korea Part of World WTSP Catalogs.

(e) In parallel with (d), please encourage the site owners to write their site descriptions in the WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4) (at the levels ◎○□), and more closely in a free format (about 2 to 20 pages in A4) (at the levels ◎○).   Ask them to send the site descriptions to the Country Editors and to me. Such descriptions will be inserted in the Korea Part of the World WTSP Catalogs. Whenever I receive the close description (together with the Standard Form description), I will post them quickly in the World WTSP Catalogs and also in an independent page in my website.
If any site owner requests you to assign a better evaluation than yours, you may ask him/her to write the site introduction enough to prove such a request.

(f) Building up the Gamma Edition of the whole WTSP World Catalogs will take more time (probably till July), to integrate the data from all other active countries.    This schedule looks tight but crucial for the WTSP World Catalogs to be accepted useful in the TRIZ community and wider in the world community of Creative Problem- Solving methods (or Systematic Innovation).

If you have any question and difficulty, please do not hesitate to contact me.

--------
As shown in my email [WTSP] Letter (31C-1kr), we have been sending the [WTSP] Letters to the following people in Korea. I am sending this email also to them with CC for asking their collaboration, [email addresses are suppressed here.]  Yury Danilovsky, SeHo Cheong, Gukhyun Cho, Sehoon Cho, Sung Wook Kang, Amang (Song-Kyoo) Kim, Hyeong seon Kim, Hyo June Kim, JeongHo Shin, Mi Jeong Song, and Hong-Yul Yoon.

Please show that various websites in TRIZ and Around-TRIZ (and the academic/industrial activities producing such websites) in Korea have significant contributions to the World in such important fields.

Having a Vision is a Happiness for everybody. Wishing Happiness to you all and Peace in the World at the season of Christmas and the coming New year 2023 !!       Best wishes, Toru

Full Site Introduction of DE-03 ◎ Modern TRIZ Academy, by Michael Orloff

TN ==> Michael Orloff (Germany),   Dec. 9, 2022

Dear Michael,
For these 3 weeks I have been working to visit 68 websites in Germany, detected in my survey last year, one by one. And I encountered your Modern TRIZ Academy website, which was listed 4th from the last as a website manually added even though not detected by the search engine.
I started to read your site from the top and much impressed with the extent and closeness of contents. I knew only a small part of your website and have never read the whole website, and never read your books yet.

I apologize you that I did not work hard enough to understand your works and thoughts, due to being busy and slow reading. Since your website has so much information, I guess I read only 1/5 or 1/10 of it for these 2-3 days. It will probably take 2 weeks for me to understand your scope.

I now realize I was wrong in some part, and I would like to ask you as follows:

(1) Please write an introduction of your Modern TRIZ Academy website (without covering your Russian website) in the WTSP Standard Form (usually in one page, but you may write in 2 pages or so).

(2) Please write closer introduction of the site in free format. Probably about 20 pages or so in one .docx file. You may use figures and photos, to make the introduction attractive and illustrative. Since the space is much limited in comparison with the website, please focus on novel and important features.

(3) Please set the evaluation as ◎ for this site. Please reconsider about the evaluation of your Russian website.

(4) Please submit (1) and (2) to me. Then I will post them in the WTSP Catalogs and in an independent page in TRIZ Home Page in Japan. Please submit them also to the Germany WTSP Team (not formed yet clearly).

(5) I will try to brush up the survey result in a week or two (before reading your website fully) and send it to 10 to 15 TRIZ colleagues in Germany asking for further improvement.

I realize I should have read your websites much earlier and closer.
I am very happy and grateful for you that you joined the WTSP Global Co-editors and have been supporting me much.         Best wishes, Toru

Michael Orloff (Germany) ==> TN,   Dec. 10, 2022

Dear Toru, thank you for your new attention to my work.
I try to follow your request with my web-sites description and to do this at next week. Hopefully.

Last week my new book about Genrikh Altshuller and some stages in TRIZ creating by him is published in Moscow (unfortunately only in Russian, I have no power now to translate this book soon in English)
Best to you, dear Toru!    Michael

Michael Orloff (Germany) ==> TN,   Dec. 22, 2022

Dear Toгu, the week flew by like one day.
But the other day I started writing an essay about the purpose of my websites as you suggested. This task falls out of my plans, and therefore it is not easy to write on a topic that is beyond the scope of my affairs! However, I believe that writing such an essay will be useful for me, as it will allow me to look at myself with different eyes. When I complete the description of the sites, it's hard to say. ... Nevertheless, the work has been begun and is gradually being done.     Best to you, Michael

Michael Orloff (Germany) ==> TN,   Dec. 23, 2022

Dear Toru, I wrote an essay about our concept of MTRIZ and about the content of our sites. I hope that this will bring you at least partial answers to your questions about the description of sites.
I will complete the form later. It's not so difficult anymore, I just did the main job first, and then we'll see what else is needed. ... Best to you, Michael

  TN  ==> Michael Orloff,   Dec. 24, 2022

Dear Michael, Thank you very much indeed for your "Essay: The Concept of Modern TRIZ".
I have just read it through with much interest. Almost everything is new to me.
I am impressed with your encounter with TRIZ, working with Invention Machine project, starting Modern TRIZ, working in many countries including Korea and China, establishing training courses with a full set of textbooks, etc.
I am very happy to post your Essay as the close description of your website on the WTSP Catalogs. Could you just fill in the WTSP Standard Form? It may be simple with showing a hyperlink to the Essay.
(I am promising many people that I will quickly post site description whenever I receive Standard Form + Free-format close introduction.)
I wish to introduce your Essay in Japanese translation in my website [or rather publish your "Flash TRIZ" text book in Japanese Edition]. I am afraid it takes time.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. Best wishes, Toru

  TN  ==> WTSP Global Co-editors  + LinkedIn Article ,  Dec. 31, 2022

Dear Michael and Global Co-editors, I have posted the website introduction contributed by Michael Orloff, in TRIZ Home Page in Japan. (dated Dec. 29, but actually delayed to Dec. 31)
I posted its announcement in LinkedIn: .  See it attached below.
Happy New Year 2023 from Japan.    Best wishes, Toru

--------------

Full Site Introduction of DE-03 Website (◎ Modern TRIZ Academy) is contributed by the site owner, and is included in WTSP Catalogs and posted in THPJ.

The website , DE-03 ◎ Modern TRIZ Academy, is now fully introduced by the site owner, Michael Orloff.
In the Germany Part of the World WTSP Catalogs , the site is described in (b) WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4) and also in (c) Close Introduction in a free format (28 pages in A4, in PDF).
The full introduction of the website is also posted as an independent HTML web page in the e-Papers section of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".
Roles of the site are: (a1) Dedecated for information sending, (e1) Method developers, (e4) Consultants, (e5) Training organizations

Michael Orloff describes his personal history of encountering TRIZ in 1963 at the age of 16, participating Invention Machine project, starting a consulting firm in Germany, establishing his own simplified & modernized TRIZ, working as a consultant & trainer in Korea, China, Egypt, etc., and establishing training courses (especially useful for e-learning and self-training, recently), etc.
In his "Essay", he describes the concepts of his Modern TRIZ with a case study in a clear, structured format. A full set of textbooks/handbooks of his training course are impressive; his basic textbook [Flash TRIZ] is published in 12 different languages.
--- The full introduction of his site is quite new and amazing to me even after 5 years of close collaboration with the author in the World WTSP Project.

We wish to complete the Gamma Edition of WTSP World Catalogs of TRIZ-related Sites and report it at ETRIA TFC2023 in early September.  For this goal, we need to build up its Country Parts for a number of countries active in TRIZ (i.e., UK, Germany, France, Italy, Taiwan, Korea, ... and many more) by the end of April.
More specifically, forming a voluntary team and selecting (with rough/tentative evaluation) good websites at the levels ◎○□ need to be done by the end of January; then visiting such websites one by one and writing brief introductions (a) and a manuscript of the Country Part should be done by mid-March.  And the team will encourage the site owners to write the site description (b), and close site introduction (c) for the ◎○ levels by mid-April.

We know active TRIZ colleagues are always busy. But please devote some of your precious time to collaborative work for the TRIZ community. The World WTSP Catalogs will become very useful and attractive for people interested in TRIZ and related methods, from beginners to experts.
Some TRIZ experts, however, seem to disagree. Not useful nor attractive for themselves, they think.
Think of the present case of Full Site Introduction. The site owner spent several days writing his site introductions (b) and (c). Does he waste his time, or get good fruit in his writing? What do you think? Is this full introduction useless and dull for other experts? Is it useless and not attractive for practitioners and beginners?
We encourage TRIZ leaders and colleagues to write Full Site Introductions to your excellent websites in a similar manner. Such Full Site Introductions will make the World WTSP Catalogs Useful and Attractive for many people in the world and fruitful for the site owners themselves.

WTSP Announcements:  24th Anniversary of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan"

TN  ==> LinkedIn Posting     Toru Nakagawa   Nov. 12, 2022

24th Anniversary of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan": For Furthering 'Six-Box Scheme', WTSP Catalogs, SI-Review Proposal, ... Thanking You for Your Support

The Web site "TRIZ Home in Japan" celebrated its 24th Anniversary on Nov. 1. It serves as an open forum for information exchange for better understanding and usage of Creative Problem-Solving Methodologies. I am very grateful to you all, including authors, co-authors, translators, and readers in Japan and around the world, for your continuing support.

The WTSP Project for Creating Catalogs of TRIZ-related Websites in the World has been carried out for nearly 5 years. As for the websites Around-TRIZ, I have just finished a WTSP World Catalog which contains 33 ◎, 142 ○, and 244 □ websites with surveyor introductions in a well-balanced manner. On the other hand, the WTSP Catalog of TRIZ websites is still insufficient and unbalanced, due to the lack of collaborative work in several countries leading TRIZ. We need much more effort for making the WTSP Catalogs useful and attractive.

I noticed that the TRIZ community is weak because of missing a representative website (or journal) even though a few international conferences exist and many consulting firms and academic groups are working actively. I and five WTSP Global Co-editors have proposed to establish a new website (tentatively named "Systematic Innovation Review") through international and interdisciplinary cooperation in the TRIZ community. The new website should accept various/different approaches in TRIZ (and later, more widely, Creative Problem-Solving Methodologies in general), and publicize various aspects of articles (such as philosophy, methodologies, applications, introductions, educational texts, activities, etc.). In place of unpublished original papers, we should put weights on overviews and reviews on emerging/established works, to represent and lead TRIZ and related methodologies in the world.

I am going to work to extend and promote further the Six-Box Scheme as the basic paradigm for Creative Problem-Solving Methodologies in general, and USIT as a concise and effective process for performing the Six-Box Scheme.

I will also develop this "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" further as a prototype of the "SI Review".

I wish this Home Page is useful for you readers to solve your various problems.  Your contributions either in English or in Japanese are heartily welcome.

      WTSP Activities in South Korea

  TN  ==> TRIZ Leaders/Colleagues in Korea,   Aug. 2, 2022

Dear TRIZ Leaders/Colleagues in Korea,    Hello, how are you?

Today we heartily wish to have your cooperative work for building the Korea Part of the World WTSP Catalogs. We, WTSP Project, are working in its 5th year for developing the Catalogs of TRIZ and Around-TRIZ Sites in the world.

For Around-TRIZ sites (i.e., Creative Problem Solving Methodologies in general, and around TRIZ), the WTSP Catalogs have just been built in a reasonably high level, concerning to its coverage of sites in the field. Whereas the Catalogs of TRIZ sites are quite insufficient, especially because many good websites in a number of TRIZ-active countries are missing.

It is our basic strategy to build WTSP Catalogs in each country (at least in TRIZ-active countries) first and then to integrate them into the World WTSP Catalogs. People who want to learn TRIZ (or any other topic) will naturally learn the articles and activities in their own country in their own language, and later go and see articles and activities in the world and in other languages. Similarly, you work primarily for the people in your own country and then for all the people in the world.

In particular, Korea is now the top runner in real TRIZ applications in the world and many people learning/using TRIZ want to learn your articles and activities. It is a pity that at moment a large part of your excellent works and websites in Korea are missing in the World WTSP Catalogs, because manuscripts of your Country WTSP Catalogs are not built and submitted yet.

Why don't you form a voluntary WTSP Team of your country to build your country's WTSP Catalogs and contribute them to the World WTSP Catalogs?

For such WTSP Team activities, please follow the Guidelines in the WTSP site and the following specific suggestions:
---------------------

(1) Please form a WTSP Team of Korea first. Maybe, forming a Team with 2 or 3 coordinators working jointly is a practical way.

(2) Follow the Guidelines in the WTSP site:

(3) See the current state of the recent surveys of TRIZ sites in 52 individual countries:

(4) See the survey results of TRIZ sites in Korea in:
72 sites are detected here. For each site, one (or two) web page detected by the Internet survey is shown, without any modification. The site name and the URL of the site domain are shown after my visiting the site quickly. No introduction nor evaluation/selection of sites are done yet.

(5) Please see the prototype case of UK. Manuscripts of WTSP Catalogs of United Kingdom:
In this page, the process of building the Country WTSP Catalogs is recorded/explained. Visiting the sites one by one, reading top pages, 'About us' pages, and some other main pages, we write brief introductions often using excerpts of such pages. Evaluation of the sites need to be done even tentatively.
After writing the Site description part, we make the Index part, rearranging the site according to their categorization and evaluation. Sites in the Site description part are also rearranged, and hyperlinks are made from Index to Site description.

Then please submit the manuscript to the Project Leader. This is the main step at moment.

(6) Next, Nakagawa will work to cross-check the sites described in the Country Catalogs with the sites already listed in other survey results. Then the Index page and Site description page in the WTSP World Catalogs will be made as shown (for UK) in:

(7) After your submission, in parallel to (6), please work further to check and add any good sites missing in the list and to ask the Site owners to fill in the WTSP Standard Form (1 page in A4) of Site descriptions of their own sites.
Please submit the updated data to the Project Leader at some suitable timing.

(8) WTSP Catalogs are built and updated in the bottom-up manner. Thus please excuse us if some of the recent updates are not reflected well yet in the world top indexes.

(9) Keyword search inside "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" (English pages only) may be done in the page:     This search page may be accessed from the "Search in this site", a brown cell in the link table located at the bottom of every page. Searching inside the WTSP pages only will be installed in future.

For your reference, we have been sending the [WTSP] Letters to the following people in Korea.    [Email addresses are suppressed in this page.]

Yury Danilovsky, SeHo Cheong ,  Gukhyun Cho,   Sehoon Cho, Sung Wook Kang,   Amang (Song-Kyoo) Kim,  Hyeong seon Kim,   Hyo June Kim,  Min-Gyu Lee , JeongHo Shin,  Mi Jeong Song ,  Hong-Yul Yoon,

Please do not hesitate to contact with me on any questions and comments, etc. Thanking you for your cooperation, and Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes, Toru

  Min-Gyu Lee ==> TN,   Aug. 3, 2022

Sorry for not having been able to support your WTSP program. I am too busy to do the job and it is not easy to ask or make descriptions on competitor's homepages.

Instead, I can introduce to you several active people in Korean TRIZ society, some of whom you already know.
- the current president of KTA (Korea TRIZ Association, http://www.triz.or.kr/), Young-Soo Park.
- Ho Jong Kim, A triz consultant and trainer, he is helping both of the two major Korean TRIZ societies, KTA and KOSCA(The Korean Society of Creative Application) http://www.kosca.net/

I will try to ask people in the monthly forum of KTA on 20 Aug.
Best regards (Alex) Min-Gyu Lee

  TN ==> Min-Gyu Lee,   Aug. 3, 2022

Thank you very much for your message, Your information of KTA and KOSCA and their presidents is valuable for me.
Could you please forward my [WTSP} Letter to the two leaders?
Could you please send an email (containing information of yours) to all the people in my list? Such a simple action will help forming the WTSP Team in your country.
And one point: Please write about your own website in the WTSP Standard Form? You yourself can write such a full introduction of your site.
Thanking you again, Best wishes, Toru

  Min-Gyu Lee ==> TN,   Aug. 3, 2022

I just forwarded your email to the two guys with my suggestion to collect volunteers among triz experts.

I cannot do the major portion but if some people volunteer, I can add some descriptions if needed including mine and my partner companies.
Best regards (Alex) Min-Gyu Lee

  Min-Gyu Lee ==> TN,   Sept. 22, 2022

Last month I attended the monthly Forum of the Korean TRIZ Association (KTA) and proposed the issue of the lack of the Korean chapter and lack of working group in the WTSP Project led by you. Most of the participants including the leader of KTA (Mr. Park) appreciated the purpose of WTSP and agreed on the need for a directory of Korean TRIZ sites in WTSP and 3 people agreed to participate in WTSP as volunteers.

The 3 volunteers are:
- Me (Min-Gyu Lee), CEO and TRIZ/Innovation Consultant in Uni Innovation Lab
- Prof. Jaeman Joo, a Professor and Consultant, former president of KTA (www.triz.or.kr)
- Dr. Soohyun Lee, the TRIZ leader in TechWing Inc. and a working staff in KOSCA (Korea Society for Creativity and Application, www.kosca.net)
You can mainly communicate with me.

Since all of us are busy, our initial goal is to make at least a small list of the important TRIZ sites in Korea with brief explanations and following the standard of WTSP.
Although I had a quick read of WTSP pages in your homepage and some files downloaded from there, we don't know exactly how the volunteer job will be done. Could you give us a guide, and an up-to-date template to fill?

Some initial questions are :
- I found that there are some informations needed for new volunteers like us in your slides about WTSP presented in ETRIZ 2020 (attached below).
Can we regard it as a manual for our activities? Or is there any other pages with better and more information?
- I saw a template of volunteer's personal information somewhere. Should we fill and submit it to you?
- Could you give us the templates that we have to fill with the info of Korean TRIZ sites ?
- Who writes the descriptions? Who evaluates the importance of the sites?

Best Regards. (Alex) Min-Gyu Lee

TN ==> Min-Gyu Lee, Jaeman Joo, and Soonhyun Lee  Sept. 22, 2022

Thank you very much for your message.
I am very happy to learn that you talked at KTA and volunteered to work as a Team for building Korea Part of the World WTSP Catalogs. Since Korea has been the top runner in the application of TRIZ to real industrial problems, your work of introducing TRIZ sites in your country will be highly welcome by people in world TRIZ community.

Here are some instructions for our WTSP activities.

[1] Specific instruction for your case is written in my email of Aug. 2, 2022 [WTSP] Letter (31C-1kr). Please follow the instructions in it.

[2] For membership application: Please submit WTSP Membership Application Form (.docx):

[3] Your tasks to be done is:
         (4) See my survey results of Korean Sites (72 sites detected)
         (5) Visit the 72 sites one by one and write brief introductions in free format in 3-5 lines (Use the case of UK (I made) as a template/example.)
And evaluate them temporarily (see below).
        (6) Please send your manuscript to me at this stage.
        (7) Check and add any good sites missing in the list. And write brief introductions of them at the same level with (5)

[4] Evaluation of sites is delicate but necessary. I attach my WTSP paper for ETRIA TFC2022 here . It discusses the evaluation criteria and actual decision making.
In your case, Please evaluate all the sites temporarily and discuss among you, three members.

[5] I suggest you to show your Manuscript to all the site owners at the grade ◎○□△, ask them to review and revise their own sites. You may tell the site owners that they may change the evaluation of their own sites.
Please request the site owners who evaluated their sites at the level ◎○□ to submit the WTSP Standard Form of Site Description (1 page in A4).

Thanking you for your cooperation, Best wishes, Toru

  Min-Gyu Lee ==> TN,   Sept. 26, 2022

Thank you for your detailed explanation.
We had another short session sharing progress and discussions in the monthly forum of KTA.
We will start to do volunteer activities soon.
I collected 2 application forms for the membership.
Best regards. (Alex) Min-Gyu Lee

  TN ==> Min-Gyu Lee,   Sept. 26, 2022

Thank you , Min-Gyu Lee. It's nice you are going to work for the WTSP Catalogs on the basis of monthly KTA forum. Best wishes, Toru

Denis Cavallucci ==> TN,   (CC: TRIZ Colleagues in France)   Aug. 2, 2022

I am glad to read your advances and all the energy you put into this huge task.

Today's world is changing so fast that I believe only an automated task is able to cope with the permanent arriving and closing of all websites liked to TRIZ.

This is probably why you receive little feedback from extremely busy players.

As talking of the activities under my supervision, we do have a web-platform to administrate the relationship we have with some of our industrial partners. It also includes online tools that we would like to share with the people funding our research. http://www.aiard.eu

Unfortunately, I have no time for collecting the windows of others, so I would leave this question open to them !

I hope to see you again soon, in Japan or in Poland ! Best, Denis

Thank you for your message.

I know you have the opinion since 5 years ago that the sort of big task like building World WTSP Catalogs should be done mostly by the use of automatic tools like AI.

I just quickly visited your new web platform AIARD.

(1) So could you just introduce your (new and old) websites to the people in France and in the world?

Do you think some AI tools can do this simple task for you?
Do you ask some young Master student of your group to write such introduction for you and submit the site introduction to the World WTSP Catalogs without your checking?
Or do you want to prepare the site introduction under your supervision?
Or do you prefer to skip writing any introduction of your site to be listed in the World WTSP Catalogs? Then the World WTSP Catalogs will be published containing many important websites, but missing yours.

You and your group are working hard to do research/education/ proliferation of the methods and tools you think very important. And you and your group are proud of them and of your papers and websites where all of your work are publicized.

Why don't you (and your group) introduce your website to people in France and in the world?

(2) Progress and changes in the world are really fast. Various information of new businesses, technologies, activities, society, etc. are reported every day. Thus keep listing/updating important articles/papers in the world even in our own limited field is not easy.

However, websites, especially good ones, usually have longer life cycle, at least several years and often decades. (Good) websites have more-or-less consistent scope and approaches, and keep a certain level of quality representing a group of people.

This is the reason why we have chosen the websites as the unit of information resources in making the World WTSP Catalogs.

Academic groups like yours usually publish their works in various conferences, journals, and specific reports, etc. It is not easy to collect such works from various repositories.
If the group operates and keep updating their website, such works are listed already with some categorization and annotation.

In this sense, WTSP Catalogs are useful once built up properly. Revision of every 2 years for the whole WTSP Catalogs may be a reasonable schedule, considering the changes and life cycles of websites.

New establishment, renewal, significant enhancement, etc. of websites can be reported (along with some proper manuscripts) by the site owners to the WTSP Project and can be reflected in the WTSP Catalogs regularly.

(3) One of the significant approaches by G. Altshuller is his way of organizing huge S&T information into several sets of information systems.

He set a framework, or a scheme for re-organizing the information first.
For example, In the west, a lot of DB were built to represent scientific principles and technological devices for explaining their effects and functions, with the intention of automatic search for principles and devices which fulfill their purposes case by case. Whereas Altshuller built a hierarchical categorization system of target functions, and then collected and classified various S&T information.

In the WTSP project we are trying the same thing. We set up the evaluation criteria and prepared the WTSP Standard Form of site description. Considering various future needs from users, items to be written are specified and their possible answers are prepared in a categorical hierarchy.

Such a framework of site description is decided ad hock, I admit, but useful for finding websites of user's interest in the WTSP Catalogs.

(4) We have made the whole tasks of building the World WTSP Catalogs into small and simple individual tasks to be carried out by many site owners and users individually and in parallel.
The important unit of task is for each site owner to write the introduction of his/her own website.

Ideally speaking, the WTSP Team (or its coordinator) first announce the request of writing the site introduction to all the people who are operating websites in the field.
The Team should support website owners in writing their introductions, explaining about the project, the format, etc.
Then The Team should collect the site descriptions submitted by the site owners, and arrange them in categories and evaluation and make the manuscript of Country Part of the WTSP Catalogs.

At this stage some discussions may be necessary to adjust the site evaluation. Main point is whether the site is worthy of being widely known in the world (i.e., □ or higher) or worthy in the home country (i.e., △).
(Once the World WTSP Catalogs are established and widely known, it may be a choice for the site owners whether or not to write the introduction of their own sites.)

Nevertheless, we are at the early stage of establishing the World WTSP Catalogs as Useful and Attractive.

We sincerely wish you and many TRIZ colleagues to cooperate for establishing it Useful and Attractive.

That's why I am writing this lengthy email. Please pardon me.
Best wishes, Toru

On Sept. 28 at ETRIZ TFC2022, TN presented the WTSP Report  and we had Q&A discussions.

Denis Cavallucci ==> TN,   (CC: TRIZ Colleagues in France)   Sept. 28, 2022

Thanks you for your long and clear explanations. Both in your email and in your oral live answer during TFC2022 !

You indeed did a huge work and it deserves to be useful to TRIZ World.

www.aiard.eu is the website I would like to promote. With this very short and simple paragraph explanation :

This website is the landing page of AIARD's project : "Artificial Intelligence Assisted R&D". It is displaying the latest and up to date informations related to AIARD members activities. The website has a front page with news, public articles chosen by AIARD chair people, automated selected articles by list based on latest news on hot topics considered by the AIARD chair (updated daily). Papers that are relevant to AIARD's activities are listed in the "publications" section. More content will appear soon (not all categories have been filled so far). This landing page offers also to our Funding partners an access to the AI-TRIZ functionalities by logging-in. To access to this more restricted part of the website, there need to be an established partnership between our school and the organization. Consequently, all its members have access to full functionalities of the website.

2 images for summarizing : (1) Public part            (2) Restricted to members part after accepted login

Thanks for your time and involvement !    Denis

Thank you for your message. I am glad to have had discussions on the WTSP Catalogs at TFC2022.
May I post the email communications with you (and several WTSP members/supporters in France) in a page of my website? I also got a communication from Korean WTSP members that they have started the WTSP Team activities in KTA (Korean TRIZ Association).
Best wishes, Toru
