Message from the Project Leader@iToru Nakagawa, Feb. 12, 2020)
We started the WTSP Project in Dec. 2017, as a voluntary project.
In 2018 we made preliminary internet surveys and small samples of catalogs to clarify our visions, and obtained about 70 members when we presented a paper at ETRIA TFC2018.
Last year 2019 was fruitful for us. We could build the preliminary vesion of the World TRIZ and Around-TRIZ Catalogs and reported them publicly. Preparation processes and structures of the Catalogs have been established. We should note, however, that in many countries we do not have WTSP teams to build up the Catalogs in their own countries. What and how should we do this year?
Forming WTSP teams in each country to build up County WTSP Catalogs, as I proposed last October is certainly one of the ways. It is the orthodocs bottom-up way we should finally achieve. But now I would like to suggest another way, that is based on the "20 - 80 percent rule" again.
Let's pursue to make our WTSP Catalogs Attractive and Useful !! We may not pursue Full scale nor Completeness at first. For various people of diffrent study/usage levels, of different interests in methodology, of different roles in business, etc., our WTSP Catalogs should be Attractive and Useful !! We just need Attractive and Useful introductions of Attractive and Useful Web sites in the world. We should invite owners (or any keypersons) who are proud of their sites being Attractive and Useful for many readers/users to describe Attractive and Useful introductions of their sites (in faithful, non-commercial attitude) and to contribute them to the WTSP Catalogs. Selection of sites are not important at the initial stage. (We will ask the site owners to evaluate their own sites faithfully in the ’[ grades.) If you are ordinary readers/users of TRIZ supporting our WTSP project, please send emails to your leaders and owners of Attractive and Useful sites for writing Attractive and Useful inroductions of their sites. Once 5 or 10 sites demonstrate such Attractive and Useful introductions of sites, then many more sites will follow.
In practice, we are going to use the following 3 closeness levels of description of individual sites:
(a) Single line in the Index table of the WTSP Catalogs:
Including: Site name, Domain URL, Country, Language, Roles, Application fields, Single-line description (of nature, purpose, features, etc.). --- Required for every site in the WTSP Catalogs.(b) Site Description in the Standard Format (about 1 page of A4 size):
Description (a) + Slightly closer descriptions of roles, fields, methods, etc. + Free-format introduction (about 5 to 10 lines) + (optional) Remarkable features and articles. --- Required for every site in the WTSP Catalogs.(c) Close introduction of the site in free format (about 2-5 pages of A4):
Describe remarkable features and articles. Introduce important/useful articles briefly and attach hyperlinks to them. --- Desirable for world important sites (jin the WTSP Catalogs, and optional for ’ sites. As an example I wrote an introduction (c) of my site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan". Since the site has the history of 21years and about 1400 HTML articles in Japanese and about 1100 HTML articles in English, my introduction has become rather long containing about 160 articles with hyperlinks. The introduction is Attractive and Useful, I believe, for readers to understand how TRIZ has been introduced and extended further in Japan and to find many Attractive and Useful articles in the site.
Such introductions (c) will be shown in the Currently Active versions of World WTSP Catalogs (A) and (C). In addition, for the purpose of highlighting the sites with Attractive and Useful introductions (c), I am going to make a list of them below in this page.
Our schedule is shown here again.
We are going to report at (Japan TRIZ Symposium in September and) ETRIA TFC 2020 (on Oct. 14-16, 2020 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania).
Whenever I receive manuscripts of parts of WTSP Catalogs, I will post them, as quickly as possible, in this Web site, for further cooperation and open reviews. Every 3 months, I will integrate those manuscripts/updates into the World WTSP Catalogs and post them here in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".
