On the Malaysia TRIZ progress (Eng Hoo Tan, Apr. 25, 2023)
Malaysia TRIZ Innovation Association idea was mooted in 2009 by an industry player, an academic official and a government agency. The Association was officially established in March 2011 and joined the International TRIZ Association in November 2011.
With various support from global and regional TRIZ experts in its early days, the community has since progressed to share TRIZ with more than 15,000 practitioners in the South East Asia region. TRIZ continues to be promoted, taught and applied in industry, university and school. Thanks to the passionate community, TRIZ was promoted, taught and applied in industries, universities and schools. The knowledge was even compared, and researched with Borneo natives' tribal knowledge.
The Association was recognized as a leading ASEAN social enterprise initiative for the contributions.(c') Full site introduction: MyTRIZ Annual Report 2022 (in HTML and in PDF )
(4) Note (Toru Nakagawa, Apr. 27, 2023)
I had the pleasure of participating in their MyTRIZ Conference 2012 as one of the Keynote Speakers. [My Report in Japanese (Nov. 2012)] The Conference and Competition were very active and enjoyable. Dr. TS Yeoh's Keynote Speech as MyTRIZ President was very impressive (see his presentation in this HP ). The cooperative work of Industry (Intel), Government agency (MDeC), and Universities was the power of spreading TRIZ. The Annual Report 2022 vividly shows the TRIZ activities, especially the trainings at different levels and in many universities all over thecountry. I believe that MyTRIZ and Malaysia are the best cases in the world for the promotion of TRIZ. We wish them further success and want to learn from their experiences.

MyTRIZ was formally registered on 20 July 2010 and became a member of the International TRIZ Association on 17 November 2011.
The non-profit organization exists for the benefit of those who know the TRIZ methodology, want to learn TRIZ, and wish to apply TRIZ for the benefit of all mankind. It started with the aspiration to share knowledge within Malaysia but has since extended the knowledge transfer to South East Asia countries.
The formation of organization idea was mooted and supported by industry, universities and government agencies. Intel, several institutions of higher learning in Malaysia, Multimedia Development Corporation and Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia played key roles in laying the foundation and nurture the start-up of the Association.
The preliminary focus was transferring the knowledge and expertise from industry to academia. More than 3,000 lecturers from across 100 plus institutions of higher learning were trained. The knowledge and contents were embedded into academic syllabus in selected discipline of studies.
With the success and interest, the secondary focus reached out to industries starting with Small and Medium Enterprises. TRIZ is gaining momentum, recognition and usage in many companies in Malaysia and South East Asia.
Seeing the good traction in tertiary education and industry, through the support of the industry, academia and government collaboration, the TRIZ content was adapted for secondary schools sharing. 14 and 15 year old student across schools in Malaysia are learning TRIZ today.
After 10 years of outreach, MyTRIZ has trained more than 12,000 practitioners.
With the vision to develop innovative people and the mission to be the leading contributor of innovation tools, MyTRIZ is keeping well with its motto, to promote, teach and apply TRIZ. The organization looks forward to share the learning and experience with neighboring and interested countries.
