Access from JR Kyoto Station by Train and Bus
At JR Kyoto Station take JR Kosei Line (local train) to Katata Station (about 25 minutes)
(Either Local train or New Rapid train, they do not need extra charge. About 4 trains every hour. Do not use Limited Express trains which need extra charges.)Then take a Shuttle Bus of Laforet Biwako (free) (about 10 minutes) (almost one every hour, see below) (Katata Station is a small local station, and you can find the Shuttle Bus stop easily.)

The Symposium reserves a certain number of guest rooms. They are mostly rooms for 2 persons.
Room sharing by 2 persons is the standard way in this facility for conferences.
Request of single use of such (2-person) rooms is acceptable only in some limitted number, in some special situations, etc. and costs extra charges.
Traveling, sight seeing, hotel reservation, etc.
Sorry but the Symposium Office does not have man power for providing these services for presenters and participants.

Notice: Sept. 15, 2008 (Mon.) is a National Holiday for the Respect of Senior Citizens. Thus the weekend just after our Symposium is somewhat a big weekend with 3 days for Japanese people. Please be careful in arranging flight tickets, business meetings, reserving hotels, etc.
