"Collaborative
Board of TRIZ Promoters and Users in Japan"
has been set up and is preparing for holding "First TRIZ Symposium in
Japan" in coming September, 2005. (Reported by
Toru
Nakagawa) (Posted
in Japanese
on Feb. 7, 2005 ,
and in English on Feb. 22, 2005.)
For
the purpose of promoting the penetration and application of TRIZ in
Japan,
major players of TRIZ promoters and users in Japan have recently joined
to form
a collaboration group. "Collaborative Board of TRIZ Promoters
and
Users in Japan" was set up on Feb. 1, 2005, with the initiative by
Dr.
Toshihiro Hayashi, Hitachi Co. This collaboration group was
founded on
the basis of a voluntary group "TRIZ Konwa-kai",
which met 6 times since last March to informally discuss on the
promotion of
TRIZ. The goals of the Collaborative Board during 2005 are to
hold "First
TRIZ Symposium in Japan" in coming September and to found
(tentatively
named) "Japan TRIZ Association" in a year or so. Though
it is a small voluntary group at moment, the Collaborative Board is
expected to
grow eventually into a public organization which should play a major
role in
the promotion of TRIZ in Japan. We wish that readers in Japan and
over
the world support the Collaborative Board's activities.

"Technical
Committee on 'Development & Design Process
Engineering Technologies'" is working under the "Ohkan-Rengo"
(Transdisciplinary Federation of Science
and
Technology). (Reported
by Toru Nakagawa) (Posted in Japanese on
Dec. 14, 2001 , and in
English translation on Feb. 22, 2005.)
A
Technical Committee mentioned above has been working since Feb. 2004 as
a task
force under "Ohkan-Rengo". It has met
6 times already in Tokyo. The Technical Committee is going to
hold Ohkan-Rengo's First Technical
Symposium on coming Jan. 21,
2005. Please refer the agenda of the Symposium in the Nakagawa's
Activities page in this Web site. From the Call for Participation
of the
Symposium, descriptions on "Ohkan-Rengo",
the Technical Committee, and the Symposium are extracted and summarized
below:
"Ohkan-Rengo" (i.e. "Transdisciplinary
Federation of Science and Technology") has been formed on April 7, 2004
as
a federation of 41 academic societies in Japan. Such a large
number of
academic societies have decided to collaborate together with the
intention to
develop and promote "Underlying Sciences", which may be regarded as
lateral constructs of science and technology that seem to be divided
vertically
into finer and finer sections these days. They appeal the
importance of
such trans-disciplinary "Underlying Sciences" and are going to carry
out a wide range of activities. (Refer to the Web site of "Ohkan-Rengo": http://www.trafst.jp/index.html)
As a part of Ohkan-Rengo's
activities, the Technical Committee on 'Development & Design
Process
Engineering Technologies' has been working since the beginning of this
academic
year.
The Committee intends to research a range of technical fields which may
be categorized
as "Development & Design Process Engineering Technologies" and
give an overview of the fields in a trans-disciplinary way. By
revealing
the ways of synergetic use of the component technologies, of promoting
the
R&D of necessary technologies, and of increasing the values of
component
technologies, the Technical Committee tries to serve for the further
enhancement of Japan's competence in technology and
manufacturing.
In
the Symposium to be held on Jan. 21, 2005, the issues which have been
discussed
in the Technical Committee will be presented to public and the
up-to-date case
studies and future directions of the relevant technologies will be
discussed. A wide range of technologies including various
methodologies
for Development & Design Process, simulation methods and digital
engineering will be presented through their application and
integrated-use case
studies. In the Panel Discussion we would like to discuss about
the roles
to be played by universities. For industry people who are
promoting advanced
ways of manufacturing and for university people who are trying to grow
students
into experts in these fields, the Symposium will be an important
trigger for
further discussions.

and posted
ETRIA's Official Page in Japanese. (Reported
by
Toru Nakagawa) (Posted in Japanese on Sept. 11, 2001
, and in
English translation on Feb. 22, 2005)
ETRIA
(European TRIZ Association) is a new international organization founded
for
promoting the penetration of TRIZ under international
collaboration.
Initially it was formed by members in European countries, thus having
the name
of ETRIA, but lately it accepted members from most of the countries
over the
world where TRIZ has been introduced. Receiving a request from
ETRIA,
Toru Nakagawa is serving as the Japanese Member of its Global
Coordination Group.
On a voluntary basis he is working to help communication from ETRIA to
Japan
and vice versa. Official Web page of ETRIA has been posted in
Japanese
translation in this Web site.

TRIZ News
in Japan: "Communication Group for TRIZ Promotion
in Japan" has been started.
An
informal communication group has been started for discussing 'What
should we do
to promote TRIZ further and better in Japan?'.
Besides the core members of Nikkei BP (Shinohara), Mitsubishi Research
Institute (Hotta, etc.), SANNO Institute of
Management (Suzuki, etc.) and Osaka Gakuin University (Nakagawa),
several
voluntary members from user industries and consulting firms have been
joining
in this group.
We
had Meetings first on Mar. 5, 2001, and second on Jul. 2, 2001 (among
the core
members mentioned above, Nikkei BP was absent both times). We are
planning to have the Meeting every three months from now on.
The
following issues are and will be discussed:
·
Recognition of the
current status of promotion and
penetration of TRIZ in Japan.
·
What should we do to
promote and penetrate TRIZ in Japan?
·
Relationship with the
fields nearby and relevant to TRIZ
for promoting and penetrating TRIZ in Japan.
·
Relationship with
overseas organizations for promoting and
penetrating TRIZ.
·
Future of our
Communication Group.
We
wish that the Communication Group serve to prepare for an environment
where
both Users and Promoters of TRIZ in Japan can collaborate jointly for
the
promotion and penetration of TRIZ.
