This page intends to post various communications related to the WTSP project, e.g., [WTSP] Letters, [WTSP] Communications, [WTSP] Q&A, [WTSP] Announcement, etc.  Note that our Bitrix24 Platform also has communication tools among the WTSP Members, i.e., communications inside the project.  Communications intended for publicizing and those suitable for public disclosure are recorded in the present page.

See also the pages of (B3) WTSP News 2019   and  Letters form Readers Latest communication is shown at the top.

Editor's Note (Toru Nakagawa, Jun. 24, 2019):  I often wonder which arrangement is better, either in the chronological order (i.e., the latest at the bottom) or in the reverse order (i.e., the latest at the top).  I decided to choose the former in this page.  So new information will be added at the bottom, both in the table and in the texts.

Dear WTSP Members, TRIZ leaders/colleagues
I have just posted two WTSP articles (in HTML) in the "TRIZ Home Page in Japan"

[1] WTSP Mails and Letters: May 2019 (Editor: Toru Nakagawa)

(1) [WTSP] Letter (10M-1) THPJ Updated (May 18) Preliminary Internet Searches (3) of TRIZ-related Sites in wider scopes in the world
(2) [WTSP] Letter: (10M-2) Proposal of the WTSP Database System: As Catalog Generator and Inquiry System
(3) [WTSP] Letter: (10M-3) WTSP DB System Proposal posted in THPJ
(4) THPJ Updated (May 24) Surveys in wider scope / Proposal of WTSP Database System (Toru Nakagawa)
(5) From M. Orloff: Friendly request for understandable work!
(6) Posting in LinkedIn: Proposal of WTSP Database System for building Catalogs of hundreds of TRIZ-related sites
(7) From B. Busov: Situations of TRIZ-related Web sites in Czech Republic
(8) Nakagawa: Objectives of WTSP and Practical Approaches for Us (in Reply to Michael Orloff)

[2] Objectives of WTSP and Practical Approaches for Us: In Reply to Michael Orloff (Toru Nakagawa)

Probably, my recent articles on Internet surveys and Database System proposal give impression to M. Orloff and many TRIZ colleagues that the WTSP project is now expanding too big to follow. This misunderstanding might have come from the difference between my work for thinking about the final publication of WTSP Catalogs at the global level and the work expected for WTSP members to visit and describe individual sites at the country level.

Thus using the 8 slides we presented at ETRIA TFC2018, I show that our aims and plans etc. are the same and even the difficulties we are facing now are essentially the same as before.
The crucial issues for us exist at the country level, to form a WTSP Team, to get Country Editor for coordinating the Team, and to build the WTSP Catalog in the county.

Thus in this article I discuss about the practical ways of bottom-up approach for building Country WTSP Catalogs step by step.
I also show the practical process at the global level to build the World WTSP Catalogs manually without assuming the WTSP Database System now at the proposal stage.

We are sure that the WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ-related Sites in the world serve many people inside and outside TRIZ and to proliferate TRIZ and related methodologies further.
Let's work Together ! Connected !!

Please feed us back any of your questions, comments, suggestions, and reports.
Best wishes, Toru

[WTSP] Letter: (11M-1AB,DE) Practice Guide to Complete the World WTSP Catalogs and to Report It at ETRIA TFC2019 (Toru Nakagawa)

Toru Nakagawa ==>  WTSP Members and Invitees     Jun. 10, 2019

Dear WTSP Memebers,
I have just posted an important WTSP articles in the "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".
We are behind the time schedule, but surely we can achieve our goal by following this Practice Guide.

[1] Practice Guide to Complete the World WTSP Catalogs and to Report It at ETRIA TFC2019 (Toru Nakagawa)

This article is our Practice Guide for completing our World WTSP Catalogs before TFC2019 (to be held on Oct. 9-11, 2019 at Marrakech, Morocco). It is based on the last two sections of our recently-submitted TFC2019 paper (written in black fonts), which reflects our recent discussions.
To make this an effective Practice Guide, I have added various notes, referring to existing information (in green fonts) and mentioning new and detailed information (in blue fonts).

Practice Guide is written step by step with the contents:

Practical Approaches for Completing the World WTSP Catalogs
1. Reconsidering the difficulties
2. To get more WTSP Members and form WTSP Teams in every country
3. To list up and survey TRIZ-related Web sites
4. To visit individual sites to understand, describe, and evaluate them step by step
5. To write and review manuscripts of the Country WTSP Catalog
6. To integrate and build the World WTSP Catalogs

Concluding Remarks: What is most crucial for the success of WTSP?

This article has 2 important findings.

(a) I have obtained a clear and practical technical vision of World WTSP Catalogs in the form of Interactive Edition;
composed of the Index file (.pdf) and many (Country) List of Sites files (.pdf), where both types of files can be built and updated easily.

See the Figure attached.

(b) Forming WTSP Teams with Country Editors in every country is most crucial for the success of WTSP.

We eagerly wish to work Together ! Connected !! with you for further proliferation of TRIZ and related methodologies.
Please feed us back any of your questions, comments, suggestions, and reports.
Best wishes, Toru

Nikolay Shpakovsky (Russia)  ==> Toru Nakagawa  Jun. 11, 2019     Web sites in Russian

Dear Nakagawa-san, sorry my late answer I'm very busy with some projects.

I corrected the list of sites, add some addresses. A lot of materials in the list is incorrect. For example any magazine which published only one article with remembering TRIZ could be not so good source of information.
Any case I send to you the list corrected by me.
Best regards Nikolay

Toru Nakagawa  ==> Nikolay Shpakovsky   (cc: Michael Orloff)  Jun. 12, 2019

Dear Nikolay Shpakovsky,
Thank you for your message and for the list of TRIZ sites  in the corrected form.

For posting your list in my Home page, I added some notes in your file.
(snip)        ( ==> Shpakovsky's list has bee posted in my Web site   on Jun. 23, 2019)

 Thank you for your collaboration.
Your list and Michael Orloff's list will be an important source for the WTSP Catalog in Russian speaking world.
Best wishes,  Toru Nakagawa

Michael Orloff  ==> Toru Nakagawa  Jun. 12, 2019

Dear Toru, I have looked the list from Nikolay and found it as very good and also very close to my version. I think that I could combine both lists in common one, may I?
Is it enough to give you a list with names of websites without comments?          Yours, Michael

Toru Nakagawa  ==> Michael Orloff   (cc: Nikolay Shpakovsky)  Jun. 12, 2019

Dear Michael, Thank you for your message.

It is nice that you have found the list from Nikolay Shpakovsky and yours are very good and very close.
Yes, please combine them as one base document.

Could you, Michael and Nikolay together, please send the combined list to many TRIZ Leaders/colleagues in Russian speaking world to ask them to review and improve it?

We may go step by step several times by many reviewers, without trying to refine it at one time by only a few persons. We wish many more people, especially those people who operate good, influential Web sites like the ones listed here, to get involved in the WTSP Catalogs.

I will certainly help you, but I cannot read Russian unfortunately.         Best wishes, Toru

[WTSP] Letter: (11M-2AB, DE) Practice Guide: Summary of tasks for WTSP Teams (Toru Nakagawa)

Toru Nakagawa ==>  WTSP Members and Invitees     Jun. 14, 2019

Dear WTSP Members,
In the Practice Guide to Complete the World WTSP Catalogs , which I posted on Jun. 10 in my Web site, I have inserted a subsection:
    7. Summary of the Tasks requested to individual (Country) WTSP Teams.

In its final form, WTSP Teams are requested to submit the manuscripts of the WTSP Catalog in the scheme as shown in the figure attached here.

The scheme forms an Interactive System of your country's part of the WTSP Catalog.

It consists of 4 components:

(a) List of Sites Description File(s) (.docx):
For preparing this, two useful Forms are posted: "Recommended TRIZ-related Sites" and "Standard Form of Site Description"

(b) Index Table of Sites File (.xlsx):
The summary information of sites listed here will be used for sorting and rearranging all the sites at the stage of building the World WTSP Catalogs. Use the template posted in the article.

(c) List of Sites Description File (.pdf):
File (a) is converted into PDF. In front of each site, an anchor point is attached.

(d) WTSP Index File (with rearranged Index Table of Sites) (.pdf):
File (b) is sorted and converted into PDF. This Index file has hyperlinks to each site in the file (c).

(e) After checking that the system (c)(d) works correctly, the Team should submit the files (b) and (c).

(f) Receiving all the manuscripts from many WTSP Teams over the world, a few sets of Interactive World WTSP Catalogs will be made and publicized.

In this manner, the processes and document formats are now clear.
We can certainly build the World WTSP Catalogs by the collaboration of many TRIZ colleagues like you.

This reflects our TRIZ Principles that proper division of tasks and proper division of systems make our collaboration fruitful to integrate many TRIZ-related Web sites connected and accessible.

Let's work Together ! Connected !!
Looking forward to your feedback,       Best wishes, Toru

Posting in LinkedIn: Vision and tasks for WTSP Teams in every country are now clear and practical -- for building World Catalogs of TRIZ-related Sites in the world.

(Toru Nakagawa, Posting in LinkedIn: Jun. 14, 2019)

==> See "Short Summary of WTSP Practice Guide" (Jul. 7, 2019)

We are pleased to inform you that the vision and tasks of the World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP) have become much clear and practical.
We can surely achieve the Interactive Edition of World WTSP Catalogs by the collaborative work of WTSP Teams in every country.

We cordially invite you to join this global voluntary project for promoting TRIZ and related methodologies further in the world.

In my Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan", I have posted an article (on Jun. 10 and on Jun. 14)
-- "Practice Guide to Complete the World WTSP Catalogs and to Report It at ETRIA TFC2019"

7. Summary of the Tasks requested to individual (Country) WTSP Teams.
Concluding Remarks: What is most crucial for the success of WTSP?

(A) Technical issues have become much clear and practical:

(1) Our final World WTSP Catalog has the structure as shown in the figure:

In the Index file, hundreds of TRIZ-related Web sites are arranged after some hierarchical ways of categorization. Many List of Sites files are contributed by WTSP Teams in every country, and contain descriptions of various TRIZ-related sites. By clicking the site code in the Index file (.pdf),  description of the site in a List of Sites file (.pdf) is displayed in a new window.

(2) WTSP Team in each country prepare the base documents in the system having a similar structure:

The Team first list up Web sites, both by recommendations and by Internet surveys. Each site should be described in the standard format (by the site owners) or in somewhat relaxed manner (by the surveyors). Index Table of Sites is an Excel table containing basic information of individual sites and is sorted/rearranged in various ways to make an Index of sites. Converting the Index and List of Sites Descriptions into PDF files, the hyperlinks work properly just as a Country part of the WTSP Catalog.

For preparing the manuscripts, some templates are posted.

The Team submit the Index Table file (.xlsx) and the List of Sites Descriptions file (.pdf) to build the World WTSP Catalogs.

(B) Tasks and processes to be carried out by the WTSP Teams in various countries are now clear.

And we are going to form WTSP Teams in every country, with several to 10 Members and a coordinator, called Country Editor.  The Country Editor plays the most important roles of dispatching tasks to Members, integrating the outputs, and coordinating people.

Our WTSP project is operated on the voluntary basis.  Since all the talented, active TRIZ colleagues are always too busy, we face with the difficulty in getting Members and Country Editors.  This is the most crucial issue for the success of our WTSP project.

As described in (A), we have made the vision and process of completing the World WTSP Catalogs clear, we wish and hope that we can now get support and collaboration by many voluntary people.

This reflects our TRIZ Principles that proper division of tasks and proper division of systems make our collaboration fruitful to reward many people for their efforts and also to integrate many TRIZ-related Web sites connected and accessible.

Getting your voluntary involvement as WTSP Members and as Country Editors is most crucial for the success of the WTSP project.
Would you please join this voluntary global project for promoting TRIZ and related methodologies further in the world?

Let's work Together ! Connected !!

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes, Toru

[WTSP] Letter (11C-xx) For forming the WTSP Team and building Your Country XX and World WTSP Catalogs

Note:  This [WTSP] Letter was sent to people in each country separately, adjusting the message so as to match the country situations.   Here shows a message in a typical case.

Toru Nakagawa ==>  WTSP Members and Invitees   (in Country XXX)

Dear TRIZ Colleagues in Germany,
Hello, how are you ?

As I sent you [WTSP] Letters recently, the vision and the process to achieve the World WTSP Catalogs have become much clearer and practical.
Please refer to my site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

At the same time, it has become very clear that getting your voluntary involvement as WTSP Members and as Country Editors is most crucial for the success of the WTSP project.
At the present stage of only 5 months left until our goal, i.e., ETRIA TFC2019 (Oct. 9-11), we wish to work together for completing the Country XXX Catalog and World Catalog of TRIZ-related sites.

According to my record, people connected to WTSP in Country XXX are:

Members (Membership Application Form is already accepted):    xxxA  (with email),  ....

Members to be (who stated to join WTSP but not yet submitted the Membership Application Form): xxxB  (with email),  ...

Invitees (Information and invitation of WTSP have been sent to since a year or two ago): xxxD  (with email),  ...

Note: Any other persons besides those listed here are welcome to join WTSP and work together.

Would you please join the WTSP project and form Country XXX WTSP Team?
Could you volunteer or elect some of you as the Country Editor of Country XXX ?
Since your country has a lot of TRIZ activities, probably you may better have 2 (or 3) joint Country Editors.

The tasks for WTSP Teams are:

- Please submit your Membership Application Form .
- List up recommendable TRIZ-related Web sites.
- Ask the site owners to fill in the Site Description Form
- Survey TRIZ-related sites with Internet searches
- Visit and describe the sites one by one
- Prepare the List of sites for Country XXX WTSP Catalog in your language and in English
- Prepare the List of sites for World WTSP Catalogs in English

In October last year, Mr. XXX-A1 made a Google search and posted the results in Google Doc for cooperative revisions, I am told.   How has it come?    Last March I also made an Internet search of TRIZ Web sites written in XXX language and sent the results to you. Could you please refine it?

Let's work Together ! Connected !! for further proliferation of TRIZ and related methodologies !!!

Looking forward to hearing from you,      Best wishes, Toru

Eng Hoo Tan (Malaysia)  ==> Toru Nakagawa  Jun. 17, 2019     WTSP Material:  List of Sites in Malaysia

Dear Dr Toru,
Enclosed are the list of websites created, hosted and managed in Malaysia.

Main social media sites are Malaysia TRIZ (website) and TRIZ Malaysia (facebook).

I have also listed the regional contacts that you may want to reach out for similar information gathering.
Do let us know if you need any help.

Indonesia – Dr Risdiyono,   (email suppressed, TN)
Philippines – Mr. Irving Guerrero,  (email suppressed, TN)
Thailand – Mr Tanasak Pheunghua,  (email suppressed, TN)
Pakistan – Dr Muhammad Mansoor,  (email suppressed, TN)

Hope this will be good information for a start.            Very best, Eng Hoo

Toru Nakagawa ==> Eng Hoo Tan   Jun. 17, 2019

Dear Eng Hoo Tan, Thank you very much. Your information is really valuable.

(1) May I post the list of the sites in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" as the base document in Malaysia?

In the Web sites #3-16, are any reports of case studies and their methods posted?
Malaysia TRIZ Web site seems to post mostly the plans and reports of Conferences, Competitions, Seminars, etc. and not much the papers themselves, I feel.
Where do you maintain such documents?

(2) I have contact with Mr Tanasak Pheunghua, Thailand, because he once came and gave a presentation at our Japan TRIZ Symposium.
Could you please write to 3 other persons for introducing me and the WTSP project?
I will write to them in a couple of days.

Thanks,         Best wishes, Toru Nakagawa

Eng Hoo Tan  ==> Toru Nakagawa  Jun. 18, 2019

Dear Dr Toru, Answers to your questions:

Q1) May I post the list of the sites in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" as the base document in Malaysia?
A1) Feel free to post the list where applicable. The social media sites are mostly public domains.

==> See the page :WTSP Working Material: D-my-Malaysia Manuscripts of WTSP Catalogs of Malaysia (Eng Hoo Tan, T.S. Yeoh (MyTRIZ)) (Jun. 23, 2019)

Q2) In the Web sites #3-16, are any reports of case studies and their methods posted?
A2) At this present moment, do not expect web sites #3-16 to contain reports of case studies or publishing of methods. They will most likely promote Training classes or share successes of winning competitions.

Q3) Malaysia TRIZ Web site seems to post mostly the plans and reports of Conferences, Competitions, Seminars, etc. and not much the papers themselves, I feel. Where do you maintain such documents?
A3) You are correct with the public domain of the Malaysia TRIZ web site. We keep special reports, annual reports or presentations for access by members only. The information are not for general sharing.

Q4) I have contact with Mr Tanasak Pheunghua, Thailand, because he once came and gave a presentation at our Japan TRIZ Symposium.
A4) Happy that you are in contact with Mr Tanasak. Am very sure he can assist in this matter.

Q5) Could you please write to 3 other persons for introducing me and the WTSP project?
A5) Happy to link you with our friends in Indonesia, Philippines and Pakistan.

Hope the project will be fruitful.        Very best, Eng Hoo

Eng Hoo Tan  ==> Risdiyono (Indonesia), Irving Guerrero (Philippines), Muhammad Mansoor (Pakistan) (cc: Toru Nakagawa)  Jun. 18, 2019

Dr Risdi, Irving, Dr Mansoor,

Am introducing Prof Emeritus Dr Toru Nakagawa via this email.
Prof Emeritus Dr Toru Nakagawa is attached to Osaka Gakuin University, Japan and has dedicated much of his time on the research and proliferation of creative problem solving methodologies.
Recently, he is championing a project called World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP).
In a nutshell, he is trying to consolidate a list of TRIZ website or social media platforms for sharing and to rate them based on quality of knowledge sharing. He has been trying to establish country level set-up.

We recommend you as his point of contact for TRIZ related activities in your countries.
Prof Toru will touch base with you to seek your help on the World TRIZ Sites Project.

Hope you can render your assistance to him.                 Very best, Eng Hoo

Toru Nakagawa  ==> Risdiyono (Indonesia), Irving Guerrero (Philippines), Muhammad Mansoor (Pakistan) (cc: Eng Hoo Tan)  Jun. 24, 2019

Hello, I am Toru Nakagawa, Emeritus Professor of Osaka Gakuin University.
I am very happy to communicate with you through the kind introduction by Mr. Eng Hoo Tan.

Since December 2017, we started the World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP) for building Catalogs of TRIZ-related Web sites in the world.
All the information about WTSP is posted in my Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" , where WTSP Index page is :
As the basic introduction, I attach here 2 pdf files.

We want to gather and publicize the information how TRIZ is introduced, learned, used, prompted in various countries in the world, by means of making Catalogs of TRIZ-related sites.
We wish to learn the TRIZ situations in your countries. Your countries form the frontier of TRIZ promotion and almost unknown in the world TRIZ community.

In practice, I wish you

to join WTSP project as a Member (and also Country Editor),
to send us some communication about the situations of TRIZ and related methods in your country,
to gather information of people (promoters and learners), Web sites, activities, etc.
to describe such information in the WTSP formats.
to make WTSP Catalogs of your country, in your own language first so as to be useful for the people in your country.
to make WTSP Catalogs of selected sites in your country in English and contribute them to the WTSP project.

For some detail, please read the page of "Practice Guide" in the Web page

Hope the WTSP activities be helpful for your country and for the world.
If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.         Best wishes, Toru

Dear Mr. Jinpu Zhang and Professor Runhua Tan,

Thank you very much for your contributions of WTSP documents about the TRIZ related Web sites in China. I have just quickly read your 4 files and am impressed much with your neat and thorough descriptions.

(1) I am going to post your files in my Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" as good examples. They will certainly encourage many WTSP Teams over the world.
(2) Could you please upload your files in our Bitrix24 Platform ? Since many Teams are going to work in parallel, we have already set up the platform for cooperative work using the in-Cloud service.
(3) Could you please encourage the managers of other TRIZ sites in China to fill in the Site description form ?
Thanking you again,    Best wishes,   Toru

Toru Nakagawa ==>  WTSP Members and Invitees

Dear WTSP Members and TRIZ leaders/colleagues,

I recently sent you three [WTSP] Letters:
[WTSP] Letter (11M-1AB, DE) Practice Guide (Jun. 10, 2019)
[WTSP] Letter (11M-2AB, DE) Summary of Tasks (Jun. 14, 2019)
[WTSP] Letter (11C-xx) Forming Teams (Jun. 15-16, 2019)

To our pleasure, I have received several communications from some country editors and get their contributions of notes/manuscripts of WTSP Catalogs of their countries.

Today I have posted such data, together with my survey result, in my Web site: "TRIZ Home Page in Japan":

[1] Selected TRIZ Sites written in Russian (by Nikolay Shpakovsky)

Nikolay Shpakovsky worked on the output of Internet search (by Nakagawa) and made a list of 36 Selected TRIZ Sites (by adding 15 new sites) and separated them from 73 other sites ('Random' sites, he says). The HTML page shows the 36 selected sites in a tabular format, while Shpakovsky's Word file shows all the 109 sites.

-- Michael Orloff appreciates Shpakovsky's list and is going to integrate their two lists for the basis of our further work for WTSP Catalogs of TRIZ-related sites especially written in Russian.

[2] Preliminary Internet Search (3B) of TRIZ-related Sites in a wider scope with the keywords:
(Creative OR innovative OR Systematic) Problem Solve (Method OR Process OR Technique)    (Toru Nakagawa)

The main theme has been extended from 'Creative Thinking' in (3A2) to more objective one 'Creative Problem Solving' in (3B), and the result is very productive to find many useful sites.

Among the 173 sites, I evaluated as
◎ Most important 10 sites (including 8 sites L already listed elsewhere),
  ○ Important 26 sites (including 7 L sites),
  □ World Catalog 64 sites (including 7 L sites),
△ Country Catalog 32 sites (including 1 L site), and
  - Irrelevant 39 sites.
