Dear WTSP Members and TRIZ Leaders/Colleagues,

World WTSP Catalogs are now Up in my Web site !!!
      http://www.osaka-gu.ac.jp/php/nakagawa/TRIZ/eTRIZ/

This is the First Preliminary version, which we planned three weeks ago to complete quickly and upload on Aug. 4.
It has delayed by a day.
But it looks quite good in the structure. See the figure attached here.
The contents will be improved step by step by virtue of cooperation of many of you and our colleagues, we believe.

[1] World WTSP Catalogs Top Page
[2] World TRIZ Basic Index
[3] Source Documents of the World WTSP Catalogs
[4] TRIZ sites Written in Russian Language in the world (Michael Orloff)

------------------------

[1] World WTSP Catalogs Top Page (Toru Nakagawa)

This is the top page of our new World WTSP Catalogs !!!.
The World WTSP Catalogs form a system of various Indexes to the descriptions of sites. Its structure (for the users) is illustrated in the figure attached.

On the basis of the data of 'Table of sites' and 'Descriptions of sites' contributed by various country Teams and by Top-down surveys, the World WTSP Catalogs provide us with additional Indexes which show the sites in the world after various ways of categorization and rearrangement.

We have just built the World TRIZ Basic Catalog, showing ◎ and ○ sites in TRIZ in the world. We are going to build a few more Indexes containing the ◎○□ sites and also the sites around TRIZ.

[2] World TRIZ Basic Index (Toru Nakagawa)

This is the basic Catalog (or Core Catalog) of the World WTSP Catalogs. It shows the sites in TRIZ in the world with the evaluations of ◎ (Most important, about top 30) and ○ (Important, about top 100).
60 sites are arranged after categorizing them with the Roles of site.
The Index is shown in a tabular form. By clicking the site code (or site number) in the table, description of the site will be displayed.

This is a preliminary version containing the data from only 4 countries (Japan, Malaysia, China, and Russian region) and 2 top-down surveys (TRIZ in the world, and TRIZ in USA). By getting contributions from many more countries (hopefully 30-40 countries) and by improving the site descriptions, we are sure that this core part (World TRIZ Basic Index) of World WTSP Catalogs can tell us rich and useful information about TRIZ activities and their achievements in the world.

[3] Source Documents of the World WTSP Catalogs (Toru Nakagawa)

This page manages the source documents contributed by various WTSP Teams to the World WTSP Catalogs. Such documents have to be examined to make sure that they match with the requirements of the mandatory information, suitable formatting, hyperlinks & anchor points, and working as a small Web site of each Team/Case.

For the document management, the structure of folders of documents has been designed in the figure 2 attached below.

This design ensures easy handling and consistency of data throughout the stages of initial checking, preparation of World Catalogs, usage of Catalogs, and maintenance/updating the Catalogs.

[4] Index Table of TRIZ sites Written in Russian Language in the world (Michael Orloff)

I received this manuscript from Michael Orloff on Jul. 24, and sent [WTSP] Letter (12C-2ru) to many Russian speaking TRIZ people, saying:

"I have received an email yesterday from Michael Orloff and much impressed with the 'Index Table of Sites' of Russian language Web sites for the preparation of World TRIZ-related sites Catalogs. The present list of Russian language TRIZ sites are really nice and will make the World WTSP Catalogs useful and meaningful. The present table has been compiled by Michael Orloff with much efforts, and with some help by Nikolay Shpakovsky. We thank them much for their efforts. ...."

35 TRIZ sites written in Russian language in the world are selected and briefly introduced here. The sites are listed in the form of 'Index Table of Sites' for the preparation of the World WTSP Catalogs. We can learn that there are many excellent sites written and operated by TRIZ masters which have not been known well in the world because most of them are written only in the Russian language.

-----------------------------

Please take a look at the World WTSP Catalogs, especially at the World TRIZ Basic Catalog.

Are there highly evaluated sites new to you?
Do you find your own site? sites in your country ? and sites you recommend highly?
Do you think the World WTSP Catalogs useful for you? for your customers? for many practitioners?
Could you please help us to improve the Catalogs in some part close to you?
Please contribute your manuscripts through your Country Editors?
(Who are the WTSP Members and Country Editors in your country?)

Best wishes, Toru

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Readers of THPJ in Japan (in Japanese)    Aug. 8, 2019

Dear Readers with interest in the Creative Problem Solving Methodology TRIZ,

Since my last Update Announcement on July 8, I updated my "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" on Jul. 14, 18, 25, Aug. 4 (in English pages) and Aug. 8 (in Japanese pages)

Extending the practical strategy written last in the "Practic Guide to Build World WTSP Catalogs", we have changed our WTSP strategy in mid July.

Our original strategy was the Bottom-up Approach to build the WTSP Catalogs of individual countries first as the basis  for the World WTSP Catalogs.  Our new strategy is the Top-down Approach to build the prototype/sample of the World WTSP Catalogs first quickly.  If we show the preliminary version of World WTSP Catalogs even in a not-so-high quality, the goal of our WTSP project becomes clearer for everybody and the cooperative work will start smoothly.

Thus we set the plans of posting the First preliminary version of World WTSP Catalogs on Aug. 4, and the Revised preliminary version on September 30.  We have actually completed the First preliminary version of 'World WTSP Catalogs' (or 'World TRIZ-related Sites Catalogs') (Version of Aug. 4, 2019) and posted it on Aug. 5, in the English pages.

In the Japanese pages, brief introductions of the World WTSP Catalogs [4][5][6] are posted today.

[1] World WTSP Catalogs (Japan Part)  (Toru Nakagawa)  (Jul. 14)
[2] New Strategy of the WTSP Project: To Show World WTSP Catalogs Quickly (Toru Nakagawa & 5 Global Co-editors) (Jul. 25)
[3] TRIZ sites Written in Russian Language in the world (Michael Orloff) (Aug. 4)
[4] Source Documents and the Folder structure of the World WTSP Catalogs (Toru Nakagawa)  (Aug. 4)
[5] World WTSP Catalogs: Its top page and usage (Toru Nakagawa)  (Aug. 4)
[6] World WTSP Catalogs (A) Basic Index of World TRIZ Sites (◎○) (Toru Nakagawa)  (Aug. 4)

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Posting in LinkedIn     Aug. 17, 2019

World TRIZ Sites Catalog (Preliminary version) is now posted, including 19 ◎ sites and 41 ○ sites. Document and display structures are established.

As we set a plan a month ago, we have quickly built a preliminary version of the World WTSP Catalogs. The Aug. 4 version was actually posted on Aug. 5, in the Web site "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".

The version is based on the manuscripts contributed from 4 countries (Japan, Malaysia, China, and Russian region) and 2 top-down Internet surveys (for sites in the world in English and for sites in USA in English).

Because of such a limited range of manuscripts, many important sites are missing and the site descriptions are weak.
Nevertheless, you will recognize that many sites which are evaluated as ◎: most important and 〇: important are new to you. Your view of the TRIZ world would be certainly enlarged.

We have established the WTSP document structure as shown in Fig. 1.

Every country Team prepares the sites descriptions and the list of them (in a specific form 'Index Table') and builds a small Web site containing hyperlinks from the list to the site description.

The WTSP system accepts such manuscripts and integrates all the Index Tables and sorts and rearranges all the sites in various sets of categories.
In the case of the Aug. 4 version, sites with ◎ and 〇 are extracted and rearranged in the order categorized with the 'Roles of site'.

Click to enlarge

In this document system, we can make various types of Index of World TRIZ-related sites without touching the site descriptions at all.

From the users view, the WTSP Catalogs are a system of Indexes and Sites descriptions, as shown in Fig. 2.

At the top page of the WTSP Catalogs, you may select any Index and see the site descriptions by clicking any site code (or site number) in the Index.

Click to enlarge

In September we are going to build the revised version of the World WTSP Catalogs, which have the following 4 World Indexes:

(A) Basic Index of TRIZ Sites in the world, containing ◎〇 sites
(B) Extended Index of TRIZ Sites in the world, containing ◎〇□ sites
(C) Basic Index of Sites Around TRIZ in the world, containing ◎〇 sites
(D) Extended Index of Sites Around TRIZ in the world, containing ◎〇□ sites

We wish that in many countries the WTSP Teams prepare their manuscripts in the form of a small Web site as mentioned above and contribute to the WTSP project.
The due of manuscripts is Sept. 15, 2019 and
the date of posting the World WTSP Catalogs is Sept. 30, 2019.

We are looking forward to your manuscripts and any suggestions for improving the Catalogs.

Toru Nakagawa ==>  Readers of "TRIZ Home Page in Japan" in the world     Aug. 21, 2019

Dear TRIZ Leaders/colleagues,

Since last Update Announcement on May 25, I have updated my Web site several times especially on the progress of the World TRIZ Sites Project (WTSP).

Main topics are:

(a) Practice Guide to Complete the World WTSP Catalogs (Jun. 2, Jun. 10, Jun. 14, Jul. 7, Jul. 13):
In a simpler and more practical manner than the 'WTSP Database system' proposed on May 24.

(b) Catalog data contributed by China, Malaysia, Japan, and Russian region (Jun. 23, Jul. 14, Aug. 4)

(c) Internet surveys in wider scope around TRIZ (Jun. 23, Jul. 6)

(d) New WTSP strategy to show preliminary versions of World WTSP Catalogs quickly without waiting for individual countries' Catalogs (Jul. 14, Jul. 25)

(e) Preliminary version of World WTSP Catalogs: Top page, World TRIZ Basic Index, Document structure (Aug. 4)

(f) Plan of revised preliminary version of World WTSP Catalogs to be posted on Sept. 30 (Jul. 25). In this announcement I will introduce you mainly the current state of the World WTSP Catalogs (e).

*** Please refer the attached PDF file. ***   ==>  See below   (PDF )

The present preliminary version is based on such a limited range of manuscripts (from 4 countries/region and 2 surveys), we notice that many important and useful sites are missing.

Nevertheless, we note that there are many TRIZ Web sites evaluated ◎ and ○ in various approaches and activities, and many of them are unfamiliar so far for most people.

The World WTSP Catalogs will certainly expand our views of TRIZ activities in the world and open the possibility of mutual cooperation and reference among the sites and the people.

We have a plan of revising the World WTSP Catalogs in the schedule:
      Manuscripts due: Sept. 15, 2019,
Posting in TRIZ Home Page in Japan: Sept. 30, 2019, and
Presentation at ETRIA TFC 2019: Oct. 9-11, 2019.

Our most important goal is to make the (A) TRIZ Site, Basic Index (◎○) as good as possible.

Forming WTSP Teams and making Country WTSP Catalogs at the ◎○ level or the ◎○□ level are urgently necessary.

We sincerely ask for your contributions.

Let's work Together ! Connected !!

Best wishes, Toru

"TRIZ Home Page in Japan" Updated (Aug. 5, 2019)

World TRIZ Sites Catalog (Preliminary version) has been posted,
containing 19 ◎ sites and 41 〇 sites.

Aug. 21, 2019   Toru Nakagawa (OGU, WTSP Project Leader)                                    ( ==> PDF )

23, Jul. 6)

(d) New WTSP strategy to show preliminary versions of World WTSP Catalogs quickly
without waiting for individual countries' Catalogs (Jul. 14, Jul.

[1] Top page of the World WTSP Catalogs

From the users view, the WTSP Catalogs are a system of Indexes and Sites descriptions, as shown in Fig. 1.

At the top page of the WTSP Catalogs, we have three types of Indexes:

Indexes of TRIZ-related sites in individual countries (Index-XX, etc.)
Indexes of TRIZ-related sites obtained with various cases of world Internet surveys  (Index-TNaa, etc.)
Indexes of World TRIZ-related sites in various ways of categorization

Each Index is a set of tables of sites, where each site is described with Site code, Evaluation (◎ most important, ○ important, □ worthy in World Catalog, and △ worthy in Country Catalog), Site name, Site URL, Roles of site, Single line description, etc.
By clicking the Site code, some more detailed description (of 3 to 10 lines) of the site will be displayed by accessing the Site Description files.

All the Indexes commonly access to the pool of files of Description of sites.
There are some more options to see individual files of Description of sites directly.

[2] Document structure of World WTSP Catalogs

The document structure is shown in Fig. 2.

WTSP Teams of individual countries (XX) prepare the Index-XX file in .xlsx and Sites-XX file in .docx.  Then they convert the files into .html and set hyperlinks of individual sites from the Site code in Index-XX to the anchor in front of the site description in Sites-XX.
Thus the pair of .html files in a folder makes a small Web site of WTSP Catalog for the country XX.

Such manuscripts from individual countries are accepted in the World WTSP Catalogs folder after checking their consistency with the WTSP specifications.
The Index Table of sites (i.e., the essential part of the Index-XX.xlsx file) for all the countries and for all the survey cases are integrated into a big Index Table.  Then the sites in the big table are categorized and rearranged in various ways to form a new Index Table of world sites, which becomes a new Index (e.g., Index-World-A, etc.) after readjusting the hyperlinks.

This document structure has the merits that the documents prepared as Country WTSP Catalog by individual country teams are used in the World WTSP Catalogs without any modification and that we can build various World WTSP Indexes without touching any part of the Country Indexes and Site descriptions.
These merits are important for us to handle a large number of documents from many counties and to update and improve the Catalog contents for many years in future.

This structure has achieved the concept of the former proposal of 'WTSP Database System' more simply, by allowing the operation of the big Index Table using the manual hierarchical sorting with normal Excel operations.

[3] World WTSP Catalogs: (A) World TRIZ Basic Index

In the present First Preliminary version (Aug. 4, 2019) of World WTSP Catalogs, we have built the Basic Index of World TRIZ sites with the sites evaluated as ◎ or ○.

The manuscripts are contributed by 4 countries/region and 2 survey results.  They are:

China (by Runhua Tan):                                              ◎ 1 site,  ○ 1 site,  □△ 14 sites
Malaysia (by Eng Hoo Tan):                                        ◎ 1 site,  ○ 0 site,  □△ 15 sites
Japan (by Toru Nakagawa):                                        ◎ 1 site,  ○ 7 sites,  □ 18 sites,  △ 66 sites
In Russian language (by Michael Orloff):                  ◎ 9 sites,  ○ 14 sites,  □ 12 sites,
Case (2A) World in English (by Toru Nakagawa):   ◎ 6 sites, ○ 13 sites, □ 29 sites, △ 33 sites
Case (2F) USA in English (by Toru Nakagawa):      ◎ 6 sites, ○ 11 sites, □ 27 sites, △ 24 sites

(Note: there are a number of overlaps of sites among the cases/countries)

Only the TRIZ sites (excluding the sites around TRIZ) evaluated either ◎ (19 sites) or ○ (41 sites) are used in the (A) Basic Index of World TRIZ Sites.

They are categorized and rearranged in their (main) Roles of site. I.e.,

(a) Information sending sites (◎9, ○5),
(b) Promotor organizations (◎4, ○4),
(c) Public organizations (◎1, ○1),
(d) Academia (0),
(e) Developer organizations (◎2, ○9),
     (e5) Training organizations (◎2, ○7),
(f) Publishing organizations (○6),
(g) Information sharing (◎1, ○7),
(h) User organizations (○2),
(i) Personal (0)

The present preliminary version is based on such a limited range of manuscripts, we notice that many important and useful sites are missing.

[4] Near Future Plans of World WTSP Catalogs

We have a plan of revising the World WTSP Catalogs in the schedule:

Manuscripts due:                                       Sept. 15, 2019,
Posting in TRIZ Home Page in Japan:    Sept. 30, 2019, and
Presentation at ETRIA TFC 2019:          Oct. 9-11, 2019.

We are going to build the following 4 types of World WTSP Indexes:

(A) TRIZ Sites, Basic Index (◎○):                              Contributions from many countries are necessary.
(B) TRIZ Sites, Extended Index (◎○□):                   Desirable
(C) Around TRIZ Sites, Basic Index (◎○):                Preliminary version will be made.
(D) Around TRIZ Sites, Extended Index  (◎○□):   Will be made later

Our most important goal is to make the (A) TRIZ Site, Basic Index (◎○) as good as possible.

Forming WTSP Teams and making Country WTSP Catalogs at the ◎○ level or the ◎○□ level are urgently necessary.

First Edition of the World WTSP Catalogs (2019) will be completed with the Indexes (A)(B)(C)(D) :

Manuscripts due:            Nov. 15, 2019;
Completion/Posting:       Dec. 10, 2019

[WTSP] Letter: (13GC-1) Urgent request for manuscripts of Revised World WTSP Catalogs

Toru Nakagawa ==> WTSP Global Co-editors and (possible) Country Editors    Aug. 26, 2019

Hello, how are you ? I hope you are fine and active.

Changing our WTSP strategy in mid July, we have built the Preliminary version of World WTSP Catalogs (Aug. 4, 2019 version) and posted in "TRIZ Home Page in Japan".
How do you evaluate the preliminary version, and the possibility/future of World WTSP Catalogs?
After making it, I am now confident that we can build very useful and quite new Catalogs of TRIZ-related sites in the world, by the contributions of many TRIZ colleagues in the world.

The present version is weak and insufficient in many points.
We got contributions from only 4 countries/region, i.e., no direct contributions from many active countries.
The 2 cases of top-down Internet surveys (sites in the world and in USA) are noisy and missing important sites.
Thus the present version misses many important and useful sites.
E.g., Systematic Innovation site, AULIVE site, INSA Strasbourg site, U. Bergamo site, German sites,
Korean sites, etc. etc. are missing.
Descriptions of sites are very weak for most cases.

We should revise and improve the present version into much better one, Revised Preliminary Version (Sept. 30, 2019 version).
Our schedule is clear and tight:
Manuscripts from individual countries: Sept. 15, 2019
Completion and posting (by Nakagawa): Sept. 30, 2019
Presentation at ETRIA TFC 2019: Oct. 9-11, 2019

For preparing the manuscript in your country, the example made by Michael Orloff for the Russian-language TRIZ sites in the world may be valuable.
Please read the example and the Q&A communications between Michael and Toru, posted yesterday in my Web site.
You should list up recommendable sites (at the levels of ◎〇□)in your country,
and ask many of TRIZ colleagues in your country to add any more and fill in necessary information.
Information of sites at the △ level (Worthy of posting in the Country WTSP Catalogs) may not be included in the present manuscripts.
Descriptions of sites may be improved later step by step.

Please set up your manuscripts in the form as specified in the instructions and as shown in examples.

I myself is going to work mostly to prepare the manuscripts of (C) Basic Index of Sites Around TRIZ in the world, by using a few cases of top-down internet surveys.
Thus I will not have time to try to pick up missing important sites in various countries.
People in each country can do much better work.

We sincerely ask you and your colleagues for your cooperation.
World WTSP Catalogs will be useful for many people in the world interested in TRIZ and related methodologies.

Let's work Together ! Connected !!
Best wishes, Toru
